Default Tomtom cam alerts on xl ?

Anyone advise me how to set the time warning distance plus warning sound for speed camera warnings of the tt xl ? Can see how to enable / disable alerts ( I take it with the screen showing the tick on the camera icon they are on ? ) but again not sure how to set warning distances / time or sound type like I could on my old tt one ?

Also on a non live tt unit like my tt xl I take it there is no benefit to installing the premium came files and only gatso , red light and average speed cams will show up, you would not be warned off possible mobile camera sites ?

Premium cams will also show IF you activate them as you would a new map (use FastActivate option 2)

Okay thanks so much for that very interesting as was always under the impression the the premium would only work on the new devices which had live enabled. just wonder why folk would bother wit the standard files then ? just need to find out how to enable thealerts / distances on this xl now, obviously changed it since the tt one series ?!

Any other TT one xl owners advise me how I get to the menu where I can set the warning types / warning distance etc for the cameras ? enabling the cameras on screen does not bring up a further menu to change alerts / warning distances etc as it would with my old tt one etc. getting no mobile camera alerts / icons showing when I pass a known mobile camera spot either ?

Strange just tried my tt xl on a long trip today and the only time it woke up with regards speed cam warnings was once when near a fixed gatso camera, all other average speed camera sites etc remained silent ? again the only option is to turn on and turn off the alerts there is no menu for setting individual cam types etc. anyone any ideas ?

Is it really so difficult? Personal-POI-spedcamera setting: Change preferences-> Manage POIs -> Warn when near POI -> select POI-Categorie-> warn when closer than: xxx yards -> OK -> Select a warning sound -> yes -> Done...
If also want displayed the POI-Icon on navigation-screen: Change preferences -> Show POI on map -> select the POIS, who wish to see

Yep in answer to your reply then the speed cameras are not sown within the list off poi's, they are on the tomtom yes as I have already said I can turn them on and off within tomtom services but unless they come under a different name on the list off poi' s then they are definitely not on the poi list.

TT speedcams are NOT POI's and can't be handled as such, unlike other speedcams like PGPSW etc so you don't have quite the same flexibility with them as others

PS What you CAN do (under TT Services/TT Safety Cameras) is select the type of camera you want to "tweak" then set warning distance and bing-bong type

Aren't TT alerts directional? If so, you can't make "POI alerts" directional, so I would think they are much better.

That's right, POI-Speedcam-alerts also, when speedcams are on the other road-side, even when on a street-crossing bridge. But they more authentic as TT-speedcams. TT-speedcams on the other hand verify the direction.
