You can use multiple map if the SD is big enough.
Procedure for installing Truck NC/map is the same as for any normal NC/map.

Angry What Have I Done Wrong?

I removed the USA map from my SD card, I installed the Navcore N_SE_Navcore_8.396_For_TRUCK.rar downloaded from the link in the forum. Copied the map Europe_TRUCK-525 onto the SD card. When I switch it on I get the message 'Problem with the map You cannot use this map on this device :Europe_TRUCK-525'
If I select the map Western Europe I get the original car maps. It lets me enter sizes for my camper but then says the maps aren't compatible (I assume it's because it is using the car map & won't load the truck map)

I have got the correct map / navcore, the truck map I downloaded was Europe_TRUCK_885_4056, or do I need to do something else to activate the map?

My TT is the GO 930T.

I did get the truck options so presumably the navcore is ok but the message says that 'The current map does not contain truck attributes. Truck routing can therefore not be supported. Car routing will be applied.'

    1. even if you don't post necessary details you downloaded the map and Navcore, so I assume you read the first posting in the map thread where it says "FastActivate" - following that link gives not only the download but instructions as well.
    2. I assume you still use the 930, for that you don't need an SE version, the standard Cab is sufficient after patching.
    3. No downloaded map works without activation, same for premium voices or cams.

So download FastActivate, unpack to the root of your device, download the latest meta.txt and activate the map(s) - enjoy

As Homer would say DOH. Thanks for the help, hadn't read the map thread

One other issue, if I select the Truck map or the Western Europe map then it is using the ver 8.396, if I remove the SD card & turn it on it uses ver 9.430. When I did the last update on TT Home before I tried installing the Truck map, there were differences in the map display. There are changes to the information I can display on the navigation window. Is my only choice to remove the SD card if I want the different display/options then put the card back in when I want to use the truck navigation. Not a big problem but just wondering if there are any other options.

It is an either or situation.
You can only use one NC at a time and the Truck is a special case anyway.
Most things can be adjusted for the display but you won't be able to see any truck related features on a non truck NC.
It also depned on the map features.
    Emulation might affect it too.

As you say it's an either or situation, not a big problem as I can just boot it up without the SD card to get back to the 9.430 version. It was only after I did the update a few weeks ago that I noticed that things had changed, the map looked different, you can display more in the info bar & it is split into 3 sections. A nice bit was the middle section which shows the icon for the next turning also allowed you to switch between 2D/3D (I used to have the icon on the screen for that) I tried to search on the Tomtom site to try to find what all the little tweaks were but couldn't find anything. I believe that some of it was to do with removing the French speed cameras (must remember to check I can still switch them off on the truck map).

Thanks again for the help, I think I've got the hang of changing the maps now.

They may do but there's no advantage whatsoever in using an older navcore. 8.398 is the current truck navcore

    It's simple in life.
Look one post, from which you took the link. There must be written in the password file. You have to be careful.
