Default Clean install an XL 340

How can i do a clean install of the navcore on my XL 340 / IQ routes?

HOME says the current verison for my device is 9.061, but I believe the version which is on newer XL's is 9.150. Could I download 9.150 from tomtom and put it on my device without any modifications and then just patch the navcore for the maps etc?

Sure, you can. I never use Home.

Backup everything first, format (quick) FAT32 and copy the content of the new navcore.
I suggest you to do this via DOS prompt with the command xcopy/robocopy, so that files are sequentially copied one after the other. It'll be slower, but you won't need any defrag at the end.

Then connect the device to Home and reinstall all the Loquendo voices and the gadgets you like (or copy the previously saved folders missing from the "fresh" navcore). Normally I reinstall only Loquendo, voices and raster.

You might want to use the Tomtom clear_flash, before rebooting.

Thanks! I didn't think it would... but it worked! Its also a lot more responsive, so I suspect it must have been a bit fragmented afterall. i managed to put navcore 9.160 on it with no problems!
