Default Tomtom Go520 update maps for USA

    Hi All

Appologies I only tend to do this every other year for when we go abroad and each time I can never find the details. I was a member on another forum which seems to have dried up abit but notice that "biggerdave" had helped me in the past and is a active member on here so hopefully I can get the answers I need from this forum.

I have the above tomtom which needs to be updated with new maps ready for our new trip.

I got hold of fast activate as I seem to remember I need that to activate the maps but not sure what the latest navcore should be on this device and also a location for the latest maps.

If anyone is able to advise id appreciate it.

    thanks

    Colin

for 520 is is 9.510 latest navcore - sure you already have it. If no - practically any 9.xxxx will do, so don't bother about it.
search for map that will fit you [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and look for it here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

thanks all, I have downloaded the United_States_970_7494 which I hope is the correct one. Sat Nav is in the loft so will get it out and give it ago.

Hopefully it should work but if I get stuck I will post later.

    cheers

    Colin

You need the new map FOLDER and a copy of your ttgo.bif file (from your internal memory) on your SD card then copy/run F/A from the card itself

Which map/version have you downloaded (in other words do you know there's a meta for it?)

Guess what...we haven't got a meta for that map!! (have a look in the "intergrated_meta.txt" file from the latest F/A)

Have a look around here (post #9) for an even newer 975 version that we DO have a meta for:- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Eh...? South?

Why not take a full USA map [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ? see here for which maps have which "bits" remembering they'll all run on your device:- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

PS remember to patch your navcore with F/A button #3 if you haven't previously done so
