    Either order doesn't matter.
    You won't get cspeech or ASR with a 7751 but if you're OK with that that's fine.
    Provided you use latest/updated F/A after running button #9 you don't need to worry about what to do with metas as it will already be incorporated

    1. you need to patch the navcore (which you say you've done) so it can read/run pirate maps
    2. you need to activate each map (each which needs a metacode) by using F/A very latest/updated version
    3. Preferences/manage maps/switch maps should show you those which have been activated correctly. (another way to check is in each map FOLDER there should be a ***.meta.dct file present)

    PS I'm outa here now but will be back in the morning unless one of out night owls can help

    ok tried to patch navcore again just incase and get message saying already patched.
    My FA says its version 23rd July 16 so I guess thats the latest, ive tried running update FA but it just relaunches the same software.
    in the map folder there is a United States 100874.meta file
    If I try to patch the map it gives an error about dct.meta error

    The map folder does not have a mete.dct file, how or where do I get that from.

    BiggerDave thanks for your help so far. speak to you tomorrow.

    I'm just a newbie but...
    Can you double check that you copied the map folder to F:\map_name and not to F:\map_name\map_name (where F: is the drive your Windows see your TT SD or Internal flash).

    I use the following procedure (my TT is a ONE, not a GO but I think that in this case it does not make a difference).

    (1)
    First of all, check in this thread that there is a meta for the map you want: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Yes "United_States-100874.meta ; United_States 975_7751" no problem here

    (2)
    Download all the seven parts to the same folder, something like C:\tomtom\tmp from this thread
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (use the links from message #4)

    (3)
    Very important, make sure you use WINRAR. I've been using 7zip for years but got back to winrar after seeing reports of bad CRC's with some files, I don't know if this is the case but better safe than sorry.

    (4)
    So, now you have on C:\tomtom\tmp
    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links
    Use WINRAR to open the part1 file
    You should see on the left a file folder named United_States_975_7751, double click on it, now you should see the list of the files, do not click on any file, click on the button "Extract To".
    The default extraction path should be something like C:\tomtom\tmp\United_States_975_7751 which is exactly what we want, you may choose other place, but keep the folder name United_States_975_7751, I'm not sure if this is really needed but I've been doing it like that.

    Go to the folder where you extracted the file and do a DIR (or just open the folder in the windows explorer), you should have this files inside:

    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links
    (5)
    Copy the folder C:\tomtom\tmp\United_States_975_7751 to F:\ (assuming that F: is your TT SD or internal flash)
    That will take some time, specially if you are accessing the TT drive via USB, make sure that the copy is done without any error, this is over 1.25 Gb, so make sure that you have enough space in your TT drive.

    (6)
    You don't have the last FA, grab Latest-FastActivate.rar from message #1 in the thread [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Using winrar extract it to C:\tomtom\tmp\Latest-FastActivate
    Copy the files FastActivate.exe and Integrated_meta.txt to F:\

    (7)
    Navigate to F: and run FastActivate, maybe it's better to run it as admin, so, select FastActivate.exe, press the right mouse button and select Run as Administrator

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Click over option 1 to update the metas, not really needed in this case but do it anyway, notice that now it says

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    As you already patched your navcore, you just have to press option 2
    And that's it

    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Notice that I already have other maps, I have no use for an USA map, but I installed it just to show that there is no problem with the meta or with the map.

    (8)
    So, what I think that you may be doing wrong

    1. You have an old FastActivate, maybe included metas do not have what you need. Update it;
    2. You downloaded the map from other source and it is not complete or is damaged, or was damaged by being extracted with anoter program instead of WINRAR;
    3. You are copying the map to F:\United_States_975_7751\United_States_975_7751 instead of F:\United_States_975_7751;
    4. You are not running FastActivate as admin (not sure that this is a problem);
    5. You don't have enough space in the TT drive to hold all the map files (check this);
    6. Your navcore is not correctly installed, I can't help you here but I'm sure others will do it.

    Good luck

    Ocsav has basically covered all the points you could check but the only problem I can see is that you are NOT using the latest version of F/A which you say is dated 23rd July 16 BUT remember that these 975 maps weren't even released until Aug so no way can that F/A incl 975 metas!
    Just run option 9 update F/A and THEN you'll get the latest/current Integrated_meta.txt (open it & you will then see your meta along with all the others we have); THEN run Patch maps again which will create the needed ***meta.dct file inside your new map folder

    @technium: If USA_Canada_and_Mexico_975_7751/7685 "to big" for your wishes, you can use also an United_States_975_7751/7685. But please not such stupid maps like United State 970_7490 (regardless of non-existing activation code) for a Go520 .
    Please, no reply with full-quote, not even for stupid people, who have already forgotten the previous post.
