    Default tomtom xxl, classic xl and one gen 3

    Hi,

    Are the above two models updatable with new maps and maps from other regions?

    I am looking to get a model not very expensive hence wanted to confirm on the above two before purchasing.

    Thanks

    Yes, they're both fine. Classic XL has the wider screen which is easier to see.
    Have a browse around here to see how to do everything:- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    I don't think the XXL has an SD card slot so you'd be stuck with 2Gb internal memory max

    what are the normal sizes for the map? Other than size limit would this cause an issue as to which map I use and cant use?

    The biggest map you can use is west europe with a small modification when you have 2gb

    Have a look here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] BUT remember you still need space for the navcore (application) too which could run to about 50Mb alone. I would suggest you think about a 9.510 cos then you can run ANY map we have a meta for.
    See some of these alternatives:-

    the new tomtom xxl I bought is showing 3.62GB via my computer, does it mean I have 4GB internal memory? If that is the case can I go for the more updated Navcore?

    Thanks

    If this connects to TomTom via TTHome rather than MyDrive then you can play with it.
    Why not run [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and let's see what you have

    Hi,

    TTGO.BIF:
    DeviceName=TomTom XXL Classic Series
    DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
    BootLoaderVersion=55282
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
    ApplicationVersion=1234792.2
    CurrentMap=United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
    CurrentMapVersion=915.5074
    TTGO.BAK:
    Not Found...
    TTGO.ORI:
    Not Found...

    I can connect it via TT Home seems like it has 4GB.

    My main aim for now is to install middle east maps as I will be going there soon hence why I wanted one I could mod.

    any help appreciated.
