There might be a version somewhere that could work but TT is too outdated to be more than a collectors item IMHO

HTC Touch HD, WinCe6.1; 480X800: (Also works for my HTC HD2, 480x800;WinCe6.5):
    I use TomTomVGA: TTN_7.9193_VGA_ BLACK
Need to use compatible maps: see Compatibility Chart for PDA
    Unlock with Easyusetools_for Keygen_Mapcheck_Metacheck_ttsystempatcher..
I like TomTom for on-road navigation: reliable, has frequent map updates, and high-contrast settings.
Also use GarminXT for excellent off-road maps.
    For Scanned maps use OziExplorerCE.
    ..Google and learn..
To my knowledge there is no TomTom application for Android.

The HTC Desire is an android smart phone and there is no Tomtom app for android whatsoever. The best that is out and easiest to install is sygic for android and the latest version available is 11.26 (there is 12.1 on play but not yet available and by all accounts is not stable).
Navigon 4.50 is out now also and working perfectly ;-)

Older HTC phones used to run Windows mobile software and on these TomTom Navigator 7 could be installed with the latest maps. Now most HTC phones (like the desire mentioned earlier) run Andriod. Presently there is no TT available for android though TT have had several press releases over a few years saying a release for Android was imminent, though nothing transpired. HTC also offer some phones in the new "Widows Phone 7" format though software for Win Mobile like TT is not compatible. I would be wary of buying a windows phone 7 device as it seems that there will be no upgrade available to windows phone 8 when released.
