    Default How Many Maps Can Be Installed?

    I have a TT 930T, it came with the Europe & US/Canada maps installed on the internal memory. When I updated the maps I loaded the Europe Maps on the 4gb internal memory & put the US maps onto an 8gb SD card leaving over 5gb free. I want to have the Truck software on for when II am driving my Motorhome. Can I have this on my SD card with the other map?

    Yes, BUT you'll only get truck routing etc when you select the truck map. Ensure your US map is compatible with the 8.398 truck navcore. Alternatively, boot up without the SD card in (internal should be running current/latest 9.430) THEN insert your card & "switch maps" to your US map

    Is it better to remove the US map from the SD card then? I have no plans to visit the US so I don't really need them so presumably I could copy them of onto my PC in case I need them in the future. I notice that the Europe maps are showing ver. 9.430 & I would like to be able to use the existing Europe map with the ability to switch to the Truck map when needed.

    And what is the copy on a computer map of the USA?
    Four times a year, new versions of maps.
    When you want to go to the U.S., the map on your comp is old already.
    You will be able to install your new version.

    How do I find out the version of a map? When I touch the screen in the bottom right I get the route summary, battery level, the icon showing the satellites & bluetooth. Below that it says version 9.430 with both the Europe map & the same when I switch to the North america map. I am not particularly concerned about the North America map anyway it was just that I was able to get the 930T for the same price as the 730 when i bought it.

    .....in which case just cut/paste your US map folder from the SD card to your PC then add truck navcore 8.398 & truck map 885, activate this map using whichever tool you want & away you go.

    You won't actually NEED to use the internal navcore/map; just stick with the truck map & select car when you want to as the road coverage will be the same

    OK thanks for the info, I'll give it a try when I get chance but going away for for about a week so I don't want to risk the chance of screwing it up so I will try when I get back.

    I'm sure I used to have an icon for the status which gave the version but I can't find it anymore??
    On page 3 I have Traffic - Tomtom Sevices - Clear Route - View Route - Itinerary Planning - an arrow to page 4. Looked through all the other options but nothing there?

    On some Navcores the ststus and information button is not at the usual place or even completely missing (only with some emulations).
    It depends on the device too as the new Navcores are "self adjusting" to the hardware.

    One way to make sure you know what map you are selecting in the menu is to edit the .pna file inside the map folder.
    In the first line it has the map name - you can change it to *****_Versionnumber_int/sd
    Where ***** is the original name before .pna.
    For Versionnumber you write the full version or only the last 4 digits.
    Last you can leave a note if the map is on SD or internal.
    E.g for my AU map:
    You change from

    ID=Australia.pna
    652126214
    885
    build=4021
    id=835479

    to

    ID=Australia_885_SD.pna
    652126214
    885
    build=4021
    id=835479

    And when you go to the select map menu you will see this changed name istead of the useless name from the original.
    This effort however is only useful if have several different maps in use.
