Speaking for Android up to 4.4.2 you don't need a google accout. You need:

    1) the original apk (can be found here or accross the internet, see also post above this post)
    2) the cracked apk
    3) disable all kinds of 'app verification' settings resp. enable 'unknown sources' in Android (can be usually found under 'security' or 'developper settings')

re 3) this should be standard settings anyway for each android phone

Android 4.4.2 update from 1.9 to 1.10 OK... all data still available...

    But, regarding My Drive:
    1) what is it good for?
    2) how can I disable this service? It is already diabled by TomTom default settings, but the service is still running (and visible in the notification bar).

Same procedure for versions up to 6.01, e.g. S6/S7 edge.

    1) Look at post #32. You can make a "backup" of your personal data. E.g. if a next version can't install as an update and by new installation you have lose your data
    2) It seems a bug, MyDrive at any time present, also if "deactivated"

OK, again danke Alfred_ML... At least I don't need this backup... the only backup I need are my personal favourites that I backup as ov2-Files.

Here my personal instructions on how to do this (sorry, is in German... google translate might be your friend...):
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Extra_POI_Editor: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Die normale Favorites.ov2 der alten TomTom 'classic' Version muss überarbeitet werden. Man kann auch gleich eine GPX-File nehmen:
Extra_POI_Editor starten und Favorites.ov2 öffnen (bzw. eine GPX-File)
File... Save as... M-Column XLSX, einfach alten Namen übernehmen
xlsx in Excel öffnen, nach Longitude aufsteigend sortieren und überspeichern
Extra_POI_Editor: xlsx öffnen und als XYZ_Favorites.ov2 speichern. Nomenklatur muss so sein, also z.B.

I forgot stored routes. Sometimes it's verry hard to create an individual route (toll yes/no in different countries along a route, but TomTom knows only yes or no for all. So many "fine tuning" is needed). If then a backup is aviable, it's very fine.
Your experiance with PNA-POIs: some (favorites stored as *.ov2) can use without problems after transfer to android (my places/Meine Orte), some don't work (e.g. a big LPG-stations.ov2). Here is a "translate" of the file needed, before useable under android.

Think, I need to test MyDrive...

Do I see the following right?

    1) It syncronizes various TomTomGo Data across all Phones/Tablets that I use?
    2) It can also synchronize those individual Favorite-Files that I described in my post above?

    Background for this:
For every 'event' (e.g. vacation) I plan and store all POIs needed in Garmin Mapsource as GPX-File and translate it to OV2 and then copy this vacation-ov2 to all my devices with TomTomGo. Each such ov2-File is an extra entry under TomTomGo MyPlaces...

Any possibility to transfer a route in the shape of a Garmin GPX-File to TomTomGo?

I don't know, if it work with a fake-account of Mydrive (TT-Home can be used for the old PNA with fake-account).
No, extern created routes neither as garmin-GPX or as TomTom *.itn. This is one of the shortcomings of the android-TomTom-apps (the old v1.4 and the new Go1.7...1.10)

I will give it a try... at least here you see an option like 'import and syncronize your favourite GPX-Files'... no clue whether this is compatible with TomTomGo... perhaps someone knows... otherwise I'll play around with it and some Garmin-Mapsource GPX-files: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Hi everybody,
Just to tell you that everything works well without downloading the original apk on Play Store on my Note 4 5.1.1 Lollipop version.
Just install Dfox release and let's drive.
Thanks for your job guy !!
