@galonet: I tested your tutorial on Android 5.1.1, but Tomtom keeps crashing. (I backuped data with Android Backup, copied the folder, removed the old TomTom, installed new version, started it once, killed it, then restored data using TB and copied back the folder)
Isn't there any other way to backup settings and maps? It's too annoying setting up everything after a new version is released.

Had to made this for upgrading Android in my phone.

    To Backup
1- install original and / or patched apk and download all maps you want; make it work the way you want (setup in GO)
2- STOP GO app in Android control panel and copy folder "com.tomtom.gplay.navapp" in "Android/data/" to a safe place
3- with Titanium Backup, make a backup of app GO, save this backup: it will work only for the maps you downloaded and made copy in item 2

To Restore (with the previous steps done)
4- IF NEED: delete app GO in Android Apps setup / control panel panel, cleaning everything you can
5- Restore GO with Titanium Backup (will install program (apk) and data in folder "data/data/com.tomtom.gplay.navapp")
    6- Run app GO
7- DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING AND EXIT GO
8- STOP PROGRAM GO IN ANDROID CONTROL PANEL AND DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING
9- Delete folder "com.tomtom.gplay.navapp" in "Android/data/" and REPLACE with the same folder you made backup in item 2
10- Run GO restored with the same maps you made backup

Tested with MB526 with Android 4.1.2 (CM 10) and GO 1.7.

    Thanks.
    Well I'll try it... Thanks

I've tried and have not worked for me. I have tried in various ways, and the only thing I managed than the typical crash is that Go are loading the app for minutes and minutes. It is also true that have been tested on a Nexus 7 android 4... It seems that we need for now download the map each time we update the app
    Regards

Guys, about my possible solution of maps backup: only tested so far restoring data to the same version and build !

Had to do this for upgrading my system! Made it with different maps and it worked, you just has to keep each data and map set with its own titanium backup!

Will try this 1.8 build, creating its own map set and delete/restore just to try and report back here.

    Thanks

    @Deltafox79

Dear Sir, Thank you for your TomTom 1.81 patched.apk !
I'm a chinese user, I have to install a original apk, in my sartphone display Chinese menu, of course this is a version valid until 1/1/16.
However ,when I have to install your patched apk, Only to display English menu (valid 1/1/50) , Why? Thank you again!
