I've installed v1.7. So far, my impressions are:

    1. Very nice female voice (Samantha) - pleasant voice, not "robotic"
    2. Navigation is fine (I tried it for about 30km). Only fastest route is shown, I don't get to choose multiple routes (maybe I missed something in Settings?)
    3. POI database is very, very poor, plus poi's are NOT shown on map when I browse it. Is there an option for online search or what you see is what you get?
Some well know places here in Maribor are not listed in POIs (while there are listed in Navigon, Sygic, Here...)
    4. No Foursquare integration (Old TomTom had this!) A real deal-breaker for me
    4. Browsing map (zoom-in, zoom-out, moving around) much slower comparing to Sygic

Is there a way I can "backup" already downloaded maps (Central and Eastern Europe) as I don't want to re-download 2.6GB again? Something like Sygic can do?

    Cheers,
    Miki

I think before we can call this the best thing since apple pie.

I lot of testings needs to be tried.

There will be new versions that will come.

Seeing that TomTom is more into online info with this app makes it a little hard to see POI's that user's can add and see on the screen.

As "milosgbg" points out and I to can not see POI's I have added.

Not tested: you can try to safe the comlete folder "data" which include the map(s) and voice(s) and copy back after a new install of the app.
    Android->data->com.tomtom.gplay.navapp->files->data

Please, no reply with full-quote, not even for stupid people, who have already forgotten the previous post.

The only way i found to get a poi show up is to select one by hand from example speedcam.ov2 and then click one individual camera and
then click on add to my places (will show up as a star icon on map)

anyone knows where tomtom's 'my places' 'folder' is located in android?

    Thanks

    poi's stored inside the file

    locations.sqlite

seems to be on the map when driving...the problem is that this file seems to be encrypted or something....so hard to add thousands of poi's fast, unless there is a tool somewhere that can decrypt this file.

Does anyone know where the poi icons are saved, I have put an ov2 file and bmp imge in the poi folder and a white circle shows on the map instead of the bmp image.
It was not possible to add icons to the old Tomtom so maybe it's the same.

To download a new map on an SD memory card, you must make sure that the space available on the SD memory card of the Android device is larger than the space available in the internal memory of the Android device.

Once you see that the space available on the SD memory card is enough, do the following to restore the default storage location for the app TomTom GO Mobile and download the map on the SD memory card:
