    Well, I unistalled the 1.4 and installed the 1.8 patched. It wants to, but cannot, connect to Internet. So in my case it is not working or I might have done something wrong...

    Try to install new Google play version, open it uninstall then reinstall new patched version

    You have to navigate to get to the good.

    These are only destinations, such as addresses.
    No longer alerts in Tomtom GO for Android, no ability to associate sound alert like speedcam.

    ok.

    There was a trick for their older TomtomNavigation (3 step method if i recall)
    using ogg, ver, inf, bmp and ov2 files
    I guess it does not work for their newer app

    I have not tried , because it seems no longer managed in the same way . We can no longer display ov2 file on screen.

    Has anybody tried manually downloading maps and activating using fastactivate etc?

    And what the mysterious sense doing this? App itself allows you to d/l any map and activates it officially - what do you want "to crack" more than it's actually done?
