Maybe it's obvious and known, but as I did not see a solution for this here is my working setup:
As far as I understand TomTom 1.4 is not running on displays bigger than 1600*1200px.
TomTom 1.5 and 1.6 does not have this issue, but has other known disadvantages ...
When running TomTom 1.4 on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 with 2560 * 1920px (with Lollipop 5.1.1) the app opens but only displays a black map.
After installing Xposed-framework (your device needs to be rooted) and XHaloFloatingWindow v2.38 (the latest v2.40 is not working for me) you can run TomTom1.4 in a 1600*1200px Window!
(You can add TomTom to the 'Whitelist' in XHaloFloatingWindow, so it will automatically run in a Window. My setup uses 75% as horizontal and vertical window sizes)
I was trying to change back to fullscreen by using 'App Settings' (another Xposed module), but it does not work for me, but might work for others.
Although by far not perfect as only appr 55% of the screen are utilized by TomTom, the app is (at least for me) usable, with all features running normally.
Maybe someone else out here can find a tweak to overcome this limitation as well.
