    Hi scorpionvert,
I have tried to use your guide on android 4.3.1 and it works for internal memory. But no success for external sd. Any ideas? What .metadata.xml should look like? There are so many versions around.
    thanks

    Android 4.3.1 isn't KitKat !! ............is JellyBeen.........

PATH is :tomtom >> com.tomtom >> files folder + .metadata.xml (for a771la Apk)..........just like you did for the internal memory.

For TomTom normal Apk (T or O) :

    PATH is : tomtom >> com.tomtom.your_country >> files folder + .metadata.xml

    Note :

T Apk = All Maps (maps compatible with Navcore 9.0.2 or later)

O Apk = Original (only for original Tomtom Anderoid maps).

    Hi Maury22,
thank you for help. I know android 4.3.1 is jellybean. But the folder structure seems to resemble kitkat. Before I used android 4.1.2 and there were no problems with tomtom. This is CM 10.2 mod of android 4.3.1 and I just managed to have working tomtom on internal memory.
On internal memory it installed ok in \tomtom\com.tomtom.country folder. On external sd it doesn't work in this folder and the folder \Android\data\com.tomtom.country is automatically created in internal memory. This path doesn't work with external sd.
    thanks

I can not know all Roms......

Thou hast created another empty FILES folder ?
In this folder, you have copied the entire folder FILES and .METADATA.XLM ?

Android (folder) >> Data (folder) >>com.tomtom.your_country (folder) >> files (created folder) <<< HERE put original tomtom files folder + .metadata.xml

    EDIT :

However, the problem can be caused by your Rom.....
    (.....and I'm not a wizard....)

    Hello

I solved the install of TomTom on my Galaxy Tab4 7 inches with KitKat 4.4.2 on SD card likes this:

    1-install TomTom on internal memory
2-Start it to verify it is OK
3-Install "FolderMount" available on the play store
4-Add a pair between the folder TomTom on internal and a folder on SD card.
    5-Validate and reboot
6-After reboot the transfer of the file iniciate
7-When finish, add a spindle in the "FolderMount" app. He must became green.
8-Start TomTom normally: no change for the user but the TomTom app is on the SD card !

    Enjoy
    Dom

..........Procedure valid ONLY if you made ROOT..........

I try to give a procedure that works for devices with root and devices without root.

    Hi Maury22,
yes definitely files\files folders. And .metadata.xml in every files folder to be on the safe side. The rom is cyanogenmod so should be ok.
What should be in .metadata.xml? \Android\data\com.tomtom.your_country or maybe \Android\data\com.tomtom.your_country\files
    thanks

    I didn't understand ....

If you mean change this path, is useless :

    <url location="file://mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe"/>

Cyanogenmod is ok for you....not necessarily for TomTom ..

Yes, I mean editing the path in .metadata.xml
So you say it is useless to edit this path. This means Tomtom knows where to look for the map files on its own?

Perhaps this version of cyanogenmod is unhealthy for TomTom
    thanks for your help
