All you need to do is to have 2 content.info's files - one for TA maps, one for NT map (and 2 sets of maps, of course). Then you can switch back and forth. Only one "content.info" can be active at the time.

I did the same for Sygic Car, but since I installed Sygic Truck as well, I have: SC - tomtom maps, ST- NT maps

    Cheers,

    Is that right?

So - is there an easy way to change between maps when I take the truck? Or should I just delete the maps and add the 'here' map?

Is there an easy link to the 'here' map for car and truck?

    Thanks again
Honestly I am not sure that those TomTom are for truck (not sure) but I know SYGIC CAR uses TT maps and Sygic Truck NA (Navteq/Here).

In my post #37 gave you a link to a MAP DOWNLOADER so use it and download maps according to your preferences. I use HERE and so far works great, never tried TomTom in depth. It seemed to me that NQ were more detailed (again my opinion). So use map downloader, try both and see which fits you the best. Since we are talking about UK I believe both map providers must be doing great work there. My humble opinion is that in case of UK it does not matter unless you strictly need truck maps. Try it, play a little bit with it.

I may sound harsh but you need to do some more research and share your experience with the rest of the team, that is what makes this forum No.1 in the world. We need help from all of you, please test both, use truck attributes in the area that you are familiar with and share it with us. Your experience may be of some use to the rest of us.

Have a nice trip and drive carefully

Only use Here maps for the SygicTruck.

This is an all around app for both Truck, RV and Car.

The Here maps are bigger than TomTom maps for one reason only.
In the maps when using it for a Truck.
They have info on Low bridges, hazard material, Roads a truck can not go down, etc etc.
Now when you switch to car navigation using SygicTruck that info is not needed.
    And will not be seen.
Why we try to reinvent the wheel I will never know.

All the info for both truck and car apps can be found on their website or on the Google store.

Mixing maps with the both apps are not to be done.

If Sygic Car app could use both Here and TomTom maps they would of posted it on their website and at the Google Store.
    The same goes for SygicTruck.

This way you avoid extra problems with both SygicTruck and Sygic.

There are enough problems with both apps already.

    Helo,
I've been using both maps in my area and can confirm that TT maps don't have traffic atributs.
I explain: If I set Sygic as a trunk using TT maps it won't show up trunk restrictions such as traffic sights whereas NQ maps do.

    Perfect thanks

So - I used the map downloader posted by Texas. BUT there is no way of knowing whether the maps are Here or Tomtom - it just says Europe Truck. Once downloaded I can see that it is an NT map - Is this Tomtom or Here?

Seriously, 3 full days trawling through 2 forums isn't enough? Of course when I have used it I will report back my experiences, but to get it set up I hope my research has been enough lol!

    Thanks again all

    Hello,
NT stands for Navteq and this was the previous name of HERE, so NT or NQ are HERE maps and TT are TomTom maps which before were called TeleAtlas.
