I found an error in the TomTom Mapdownloader 2014.09 (the purple one with the yellow fonts).

Trying to download the basemaps, you 'll miss the wcm.lma
    See for yourself:

$ wget [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
--2015-04-07 16:08:45-- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Resolving cdn.sygic.com (cdn.sygic.com)... 93.184.221.133
    Connecting to cdn.sygic.com (cdn.sygic.com)|93.184.221.133|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found
    2015-04-07 16:08:45 ERROR 404: Not Found.

However, if you change the ta.2014.09 to ta.2014.06 you get your wcl.lma:

$ wget [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
--2015-04-07 16:08:52-- [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    Resolving cdn.sygic.com (cdn.sygic.com)... 93.184.221.133
    Connecting to cdn.sygic.com (cdn.sygic.com)|93.184.221.133|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
    Length: 670864 (655K) [application/octet-stream]
    Saving to: ‘wcl.lma’

I wonder how important this file may be, since nobody complained sofar.

I believe the wcl.lma file is not needed in some release. Just like other files with certain extension (eg: speedcam or building) are not available for all states/countries. So using a list of "complete" extension will certainly causes download errors in some cases. But those errors are not because files are missing, it's because they are not there/needed.

Yes, I saw the same thing happen while downloading mapfiles. Not all extensions like 2dc, cam, hmp, lma, ne0, ne1, ne2, nhs, pak, pnm, or poi are used with every map. In many of these cases the lma is also skipped. Still curious to what function a .lma file actually has in the big picture.

    Hi,
I'm looking for a description of map files.
Fox example, we know *.lma is for the 3D buildings and i guess *.cam is for cameras and *.poi for the POI.
    Well.
    But: *.2dt, *.2dc, *.ne0 etc... ???.

You already asked this question in this post:

Looks like this version is relatively stable. Works on my galaxy nexus.
