    Why do you even try to make changes in the 'setting.ini'???

    I have never changed anything externally with this app.

    You do all your setup from within the app.

    Using Beta versions is just a waste of time.

    Clean everything out and install v 15.6.6 or 15.6.7 they are the final stable versions.

    Last night I found and tried installing VocalizerEx and set that in the Android settings as the default TTS Engine.

    In Sygic voice settings a new option appeared - English UK System (Advanced Voice).

    When I set that it sounds like the VocalizerEx voice is being used (it even increases in speech speed in Sygic if I make the adjustment in the Android settings).

    I am going to try it later today if I have time (I have to drive 5 miles to get to a place where there are Street names to test.) and will report back.

    If this works then I'll be satisfied as it is only the Street Name announcement I am after and I'll use whatever TTS gives me this with least problems for the next few days as I am away visiting different places until mid week.

    However I will still clean out Sygic 16 and as Chambers suggests, install V15 and try loquendo again later in the week when I have the time, keeping vocalizer as a fallback option (if it works).

    i've just removed 16.0.9 and reinstalling 15.6.7, and as I thought earlier loquendo works only in this version (or lower).
    but if you decide to using vocalizer, please take note the tag command in "info2.ini" file sometimes not working properly (like :"\pause=10"), and causing like fast speech. and can be fixed by little tweak by adding comma tag before '\pause=10'.
    here's the sample :

    and please run a simulation / demonstration before take real travel, in my local language it stop speaking after crossing some junction but still navigating silently (and crashing if im trying to exit app). but it works normal using any natural voice or english tts. (tested on v15 & v16).

    please let me know if spoken road name works in your country.
    too bad it's not supported in my country.

    Zorndaike - thanks for the info.

    Which info2.ini are you referring too?

    I just popped out to the village and although that was not a long trip (5 miles) the street names are being announced using VocalizerEX and I didn't have any problems with speech speech or it stopping. A longer trip over the next couple of days will confirm if there are any problems.

    OK - I have tried to install loquendo on 3 devices with different versions of android and sygic - and can't get any to work.

    So I installed vocalizer on all 3 and somehow get different results with each.

    On all 3 I installed the same voice (Serena), but although all 3 now have street names if I set the voice in android settings to use Vocalizer TTS and set this to English (or even English (United Kingdom, Serena'Plus) when I use the English UK System(advanced Voice) in Sygic all 3 sound different.

    Where is the 'sound' created and what makes them different - anyone know?

    Also, how do I add another Vocalizer voice (ie a male one)?

    that's weird problem you have there

    if you want to use different voice ! download here :
    [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    btw.. what vocalizer installed on your phone ?
    vocalizer ex tts (1.0.2.3), and vocalizer tts (1.0.6) ?

    dont forget to delete unused voice library on SD or internal memory:
    Android\data\com.sygic.aura\files\Sygic\Res\voices\
    leave alone "TTS British English" or whatever you like.

    The version of Vocalizer I am using is V1.0.2.3

    I have already downloaded another voice from the link you supplied, but I'm not sure how to add it.
    Each download for a particular language has the same content in terms of subdirectories and files except that the files in the subdirectories have different names for different voices.
    However one file, manifest.ini in the root of the VocalizerEx directory is called the same in all downloads BUT contains different info.
    What I'm not sure about is how they should be merged.
    For example here is the contents of 2 manifest.ini files for 2 different voices

    SERENA VOICE:
    name = vocalizer-expressive-voice-serena Plus
    summary = Nuance Vocalizer Expressive - British English Serena Plus
    description = Nuance Vocalizer Expressive voice for NVDA
    author = "Nuance Comunications INC."
    url = [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    version = 1.1.1

    DANIEL VOICE:
    name = vocalizer-expressive-voice-daniel Premium High
    summary = Nuance Vocalizer Expressive - British English Daniel Premium High
    description = Nuance Vocalizer Expressive voice for NVDA
    author = "Nuance Comunications INC."
    url = [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
    version = 5.5
    The directory you quoted (Android\data\com.sygic.aura\files\Sygic\Res\voices \) is empty on my phone and my Tablet - but your comment seemed to suggest there should be something in there.

    There are files in the directory Sygic\Res\voices \ though.

    I do not understand why we start changing items in info2.ini or screwing with manifest.ini.

    Leave the settings alone.

    Forget using this crap version.

    Use v15.6.7 and be done with it.

    Pick one voice to use and be done with it.

    Stop making any external changes to any files that belong to Sygic.

    All setting adjustments are done inside the program.

    If you can not find a setting you are looking for then it is not there or it has now been activated yet.

    I read so many post of user's having all type of strange problems.

    The bottom line here is stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

    im stressed enough with v16, better back to 15.6.7 and use loquendo! especially if loquendo support your native language.

    Spoiler: On the Sygic site I found this:

    Changes to the TTS voices

    In the new Sygic GPS Navigation version we removed the previous TTS voices and created a new possibility to use any TTS voices available on the market.

    Also, there are still the system TTS voices available via Sygic menu > Settings > Notifications & Sounds > Voice. Those are the TTS voices provided by Google TTS engine that comes with the Android operating system by default. To download more, please go to Android settings > Language > TTS > Google > Install voice data.

    You can also record your own voice instructions for every single case by downloading and using our Sygic Voice Recorder app. It will allow you to record your custom voice instructions and save the voice to be used in Sygic navigation.

    As for the use of any other TTS voices engine available we recommend to use the 3rd party TTS app called Vocalizer TTS voice which offers a huge database of paid TTS voices. But you can download and install literally any of the available ones via Google Play Store.

    To use this option, please follow the instructions:

    1.Install the app and launch it
    2.Inside you can purchase any voice or try the trial
    3.After you do so, go to Android settings > Language > TTS and change the TTS engine to Vocalizer (or the one you used)
    4.Now you will be able to set this new voice in Sygic menu > Settings > Notifications & Sounds > Voice.
