Can you check if your addons are up to date and if any of them is still supported by newer Chrome versions?
Which Chrome version are you running?
May you try also:
1) Open a new Incognito Window,this will force it to launch in 'safe mode' with no extensions. Then see if it works okay.
2)Google Chrome has a hidden page that will tell you if any software on your system is known to conflict with Google Chrome. To access it, type chrome://conflicts into Chrome’s address bar and press Enter.
3)Flash plugin Chrome includes can cause it to crash in some cases. If you are seeing regular Shockwave Flash crashes, you may want to try disabling the internal Flash plugin and using the standard Flash plugin in Google Chrome.

Google Chrome tab hangs sometimes while loading gpspower.net page
The tab becomes unresponsive and it's impossible to close it in a usual way. The chrome.exe process responsible for this tab consumes 100% of one CPU core.
I think this is somehow affiliated with the bottom center AD, because:
- when the tab hangs the bottom center AD is not loaded, while the top right AD loads normally.
- If I use AdMuncher, the tab never hangs.
- this AD seems to be implement as <iframe> inside <iframe> inside <iframe> and so on.

I'm using the latest Google Chrome and the latest Flash Player plugin that was shipped with it.
Also I have click-to-play settings activated for all plugins and only flash plugin enabled.
I don't remember any crashes at all, be it .swf or something else.
And by the way now I can't reproduce the issue either.
UPD: as far as I see .swf is requested from the server only when I try to run it (it's due to my click-to-play settings).
