Smile I need some help, please.

Hi guys, my second post ...

I have some questions and I can't find the links for that. May be somebody can help me.

1)SD Card... How could be the complete folder structure of the sd card.?
    example:
    .Garmin/gmapsupp.img
.Garmin/gmapsupp.unl ... and how is post to be this text-file inside, only the 25 numbers like "JAWIJ-NJSY2-4XQ8G-7SHWH-T5CEY" and nothing more...?
    .Garmin/POI
    .Garmin/Vehicles
    .Garmin/... /...
    ..../.../...
    ...

I want to know where add my stuff, and the Garmin can read that.

2)Garmin and Google Earth.... how I can add lots of POI, routes and info I collect on internet and I have in one file (google earth format, file.kml ) in a easy way, not one by one.

    Thanks for the help.

copy the 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file --- don't add a spaces or- just 25 digits on the first line
on a sd card create a garmin directory--in that directory copy your gmapsupp.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapsupp.img When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents".

Hello, I need some help. Thanks in advance.

I have a nuvi350 [bought it in 2008 when I was in the USA] and want to put a Korea map in it [now in Korea]. It was supposed to be easy as there are many instructions.

However, I managed to screw it up: I deleted the original North America map, along with several other files, in the device. Now I have only a few folders in the Garmin directory, i.e. diag, gps, help, vehicle & voice [the rest files are all gone]. I have now 1.4 GB free space in the gps.

I am able to power on the device and have access to the menu. but, obviously, I cannot do anything with it as there are no map data available.

I am wondering whether there is a way to recover the system files and the north america map. Or, is there a way to put directly the korea map along with the system files in the device so that I can use it here?

    Thanks again. Please help.

    Hi New Question
Garmin Que or Garmin Mobile XT?
I have a Dell Axim PDA on which I have Garmin Que, coupled with a Blue Tooth GPS reciever. I have just purchased a Acer Neotouch PDA/Phone running WM6.5. This has built in A-GPS, which would save me from carrying around the Bluetooth reciever, and a faster processor than the Dell, which quite frankly has ground to a halt and is veeeeery sloooooooow. This is the reason for the upgrade.
Although my prime purpose of the ACER is as a PDA replacement for the Dell, I would like to have a lot of the stuff I have on the Dell (WM5.0) running on the ACER as well. This includes the Garmin GPS software.
I like the format of QUE, especially in that I can send mapsets from Mapsource onto the Dell, including Bluechart charts, however, it is not compatible with later versions of City Select/City Navigator after V8. It wont run CN2008,9,or 10.
I dont use it for driving as such, so the outdated City Select/CN issue is not really a problem as I have a Car Garmin (Nuvi) anyway, but I would like to be able to send Bluecharts and Topo maps to the new Acer.
I dont know a thing about the Garmin Mobile XT on a PDA/Phone.
Can you send maps to it like you can to Garmin QUE?
If so, which would be better for my new WM6.5 ACER, Garmin QUE or Garmin Mobile XT?
If the Garmin XT only works with Garmin Image files (like the standalone GPS's) put directly onto the SD card, then I would like to stick with the Garmin QUE, albeit with outdated CN mapsets, but with the availability of having Bluecharts & Topo maps at the click of a button (as I have already thru Mapsource).
    Any recomendations?
    Thnx

firstly you need a basemap if you dont have it
    download this one
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
and copy it in your unit /garmin directory
then download this Unlocked IMG Eng in post2
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
rename it gmapprom.img and copy in the Garmin directory

You can use Mapsource to send maps to Garmin XT or put directly imgs in your phone Garmin folder in sd ,ulocked with an unlocker or with gmapsupp.unl file
Bluecharts dont have full functionality on phones but you can see them, topo maps work nicely-
Garmin XT can see maps named gmapsupp.img, gmapsup2.img, etc max 3 maps or merge them in one map with gmaptool-
    it supports NT maps

    Nuvi 760 Screen Calibration

    1) Turn the Nuvi off.

    2) Put one finger on the screen and hold it there through the next couple of steps.

    3) Turn the Nuvi on with the slider and immediately put it into the lock position.

    4) Keep holding that finger on the screen for about 20 seconds or so.

The tricky part is turning it on and immediately sliding it into lock before it really started to boot.

other infos on hidden menus here

    Hello

I recently recorded a GPS track that i want to upload to Garmin Connect, but the problem is i forgot to switch off my GPS so it thinks that i have travelled for 186 hours!!!

Can someone please tell me how i can load up the track file and trim it to just the relevant data - I am sure this is a problem generally, and not just for me, surely there is some software that can graphically display the track to work out the point that you actually 'arrived'?

    Thanks all

Genius!! How did you know!! [I am new to Garmins, been with MemoryMap since then.]

    Thanks

I have found that some of the edited tracks will not upload however, as it says they are duplicates. Any idea how connect determines duplicates (the file's size, mod date time are different)?

PS Downloaded WinGDB, will give it a try soon.
