GMXT (GarminMobileXT) is a program mainly for phones (and PDAs), in Symbian & Windows Mobile versions. It's basemap is smaller than the ones in GPS units.. DEM stands for Digital Elevation Modelling i think and is what shows shading on the map when you zoom out. A non-DEM map doesn't have that, so scrolling is quicker. You can remove DEM from any basemap using GMapTool. The basemap from your 1250 will work with GMPC.

Yes. GMXT runs fine on my 5800, which has the same basic specs (OS, CPU, RAM etc) as 5230. Follow the tut in this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. If you have any further questions about GMXT post them in that thread. Your 5230 is also entitled to receive free Ovi navigation/maps under the Nokia guidelines. I run both on my 5800.

Further posts about GMXT would be OT in this GMPC thread.

Yes. S60 - S^3 have no problems usually.

Read the Symbian threads here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Please only post in the Symbian forum or in the XT threads for any further questions on those. Only post back here if it's regarding GMPC. Thanks.

Yes, Win7_32 & Win7_64 both ok. Probably will run on Win 8 also.
