I installed the Mobile PC successfully on ACER ONE 150 running windows 7, works fine with a USB-GPS. Will try with a Bluetooth device later.

It works like a charm. Yes, sometimes in a big expedition , a laptop with a gps can be handy. Maps as .img and the appropriate .unl must be in the same directory with Garmin software. It works exactly the same way as Garmin XT for mobiles. So as an added future you can play on your pc with different settings before downloading to your mobile device. Be carefully that you will need different unlock codes (*.unl) for mobile device

thank you! Great software! I've managed installing it on my samsung q1 umpc but it doesnt recognise my nokia ld3w bluetooth gps. Anybody else ran into this problem?
I should mention Microsoft Autoroute works well with the same gps, on the same computer.

This is great. Thank you, I will have to test it out on my laptop.
I think I did something wrong when installing maps

When I open MobilePC, I get message " Can't unlock maps using 2622093539', yet my maps are unlocked already in Mapsource.
Ok I just finally put another unlocked garmin image in there and it worked.

    Muchos gracias!

I know some people dont like to use their PC for navigation but the speed and the recalcuation should "in theory" be faster than with a dedicated unit.

I have an old Garmin handheld Etrex 12 channel GPS that I'd like to connect to this. In the past, I used nRoute but it didnt give out street names. I hope this works and the unlock code works fine on my PC. I also hope there wont' be problems when connecting a GPS unit to it. Can the Nuvi series be connected or is that with the G version only?

I downloaded the file from rapidshare and I extracted it. I received teh following error: : CRC failed in GarminMobilePC_50060\NET\dotnetfx.exe. The file is corrupt.

The file took incredibly long to download too. Is there an alternative source? Looks like we only have one and it's the rapidshare. There are no torrents either for it. I also used Firefox.

Edit: I found the same Mobile PC 50600 file on Garmin's website. I think there should be a link so we don't have to deal with go on Rapidshare unless we absolutely HAVE to.

However, after installation, I run Garmin Mobile PC, my laptop just hangs at 85% (que.exe). And on my desktop PC, I copied the directory of the downloaded file from Rapidshare and before I closed/exited and I got the contents of the file. Except the only problem is that NONE of my maps show up on Garmin Mobile PC. No error message or anything, there are no maps to view. Ideas any one?

Garmin Mobile PC is not using maps installed in MapSource, but needs gmapsupp.img like any other Garmin device or Garmin XT, so You have to export them from MapSource, menu Transfer -> Send To Device... and choose Garmin Mobile PC as output device, or if You have gmapsupp.img copy it (with gmpasupp.unl if locked) in GarminMobilePC folder.

Thanks Midnight Blues. I would think Garmin would disclose that to people before buying the damn thing. I'm glad I didn't otherwise, I would be poed. And here I thought it would work like nRoute.
