Now the map is not getting unlocked. I just drag and drop over the executable. For a few seconds there is an MS-DOS window, and thats it. But when I copy that img file to garmin, it doesn't load, doesn't open.

Perhaps I ran it over an already unlocked map? Should it be used only on locked maps?

Open your .img with GmapTool and check if your file is good, the unlocker on an unlocked .img shouldnt change anything.

The file opens with GmapTool and show appropriate information about cities, looks like the file is ok, should I look for something in the generated log ?

No, if the file is corrupt you can see it in log- Does it appear locked in Gmaptool log? What do you mean with "it doesnt load"? Do you have messages from nuvi at start? Is the map in nuvi Map list? Which map and which nuvi ?
    Lol too many questions

Brazil_2013_10.img copied to SDcard inside Garmin folder.
    Garmin Edge 705
It doesn't appear, no street names, no street at all.

.img in Garmin folder must be named as gmapsupp.img, in "Map" folder you can use anyname.img ,but not sure your device supports it.
try to look at tutorials at "Storing maps in devices"

    see :
    Code:

Installing Free Open Street Map data (in Edge705)

2 The SD card can only have one IMG file on it at a time, and the name of that file must be GMAPSUPP.IMG. I keep the filename on my computer descriptive, then rename it once I copy it to the SD card.
3 Copy the file to the GARMIN folder on the SD card, then rename to GMAPSUPP.IMG (usually accomplished by right clicking the icon and selecting rename).

Wow this was a great help to me. I have been trying to install my own custom maps on my 2010 Honda Goldwing unit and didn't feel comfortable testing on the original SD card but my copy was locked. Now I can create and test until my heart is content because I still have the original for safe keeping. Many Thanks!!

Sweet program!! I had locked maps on my Honda GoldWing Navigation unit. I made a copy of the SD Card to use when installing the gmapsupp.img files I'm creating, however the copy wouldn't unlock the gmapprom file so I couldn't use it. Now I have an fully functional 8 gig card to use rather than the original 2 gig.
