I have created a map with Basecamp - Mapinstall and everything is fine, but when I load the map from an sd card to Basecamp, I cant see the details. It's like the map is in basic mode only.

I compared my gmapsupp.img to the gmapsupp.img uploaded on the forum, and mine is slightly smaller even though I included the whole map.

I am sure it is something I missed. I would appreciate some help.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Catymag and thank you for trying to help.

I solved the issue with the basic map. I needed to use Gmaptool to make the image readable for Basecamp.

But the problem with the size remains.I tried with many maps. The full image downloaded from here is slightly bigger than what I can make with Basecamp/Mapinstall.

I just open Mapinstall and select everything from the map.I have made sure I selected everything.

    Example with CN Europe 2016.20
    Image from here: 3.542.912 KB
Image from Mapinstall by me: 3.530.240 KB

I dont know if it matters, but I use ImDisk. Maybe the image is slightly bigger if it writes to an actual device.

It is not an actual problem, but I am curious to understand why this is happening.

    Hello,

please, can someone tell me why the patched 4.5.2 version ( in #1 ) is 4Mb larger than the original one? In version 4.5.1 was the difference ( I believe, correct me if I'm wrong ) zero/nil.

    Regards

Moved to the right version thread.

    Probably you mixed versions

Patched version has the same size than non patched one, but nobody posted it here because we use the patcher.

It is absolutely normally! The full image have a some subfiles (e.g routing) what was generated by Garmin for full map with help of his map creator. MapInstall use the own algorithm and it give another content because you have possibility to choose coverage. But do not worry you will do not have problem.

P.S. You can use Gmaptool log for detailed compare of content of both files.
