I'm one of the users with the reported problem and no solution yet...
Trying to send waypoints to the device Basecamp crashes with error message "BaseCamp has encountered an error accessing the Windows registry. Please contact..."
Garmin eTrex® 30
GPS & GLONASS
WAAS + EGNOS
Select English language IN BASECAMP, then it should work.

I tried to install BC 4.4.1 version, but failed. The extractor worked 5 seconds, after this stopped at all. No Garmin processes in the task manager at all.
And unfurtunately, after this operation the installed BC 4.3.5 did not work as well.
Any suggestions how to solve this prob?
config: Win 7 64 bit, i 5, 8 MB RAM
thx for the info federbruch, my windows 7/64 isn't in english, but I've always installed all software in english, so maybe they have a communication problem between them
Version 4.4.1 have bug. Not calculate route. I have W7 64bit.
Win 8.1/64 English - Basecamp 4.4.1 English - installation over previous version
Everytime I send routes or waypoints to my device I get the error message "BaseCamp has encountered an error accessing the Windows registry. Please contact..."
When I send the same to SDcard (Garmin/GPX/) there is no problem.
When I send the same to SDcard (Garmin/GPX/) but with GarminDevice.xml present in Garmin folder, I get the error message again!
No problem with route calculation.
I was getting the above error message with Nuvi 205w (GarminDevice.xml is in the root folder)
With Nuvi 3490 I have no problems to send data to device internal storage (GarminDevice.xml is in /root/Garmin/ folder)
Above problem solved with clean install. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
