Oops, sorry about that. Would there be a better US model than the 3790 that can handle these files with ease? I'm planning in decommissioning this 3790 anyway.

Have a look at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You can add US/EU zumo 3x0 to that list too thanks to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

So I've installed CN Singapore/Malaysia 2014.30 on my GPS (65LM). Done the deeds to the .img and .jcv files. Fire up in simulation mode, everything works fine, including the patched JCV.

However, when I brought it out in the roads, it starts to fall apart:
    1. The top left box showing lane assist and next turn arrows are missing throughout the journey
    2. JCV is no longer showing up
    3. There is no spoken turn instructions after the very first prompt of the trip
    4. The purple line is still there throughout with current position shown correctly, but any rerouting (missed turns) takes really long to effect

Soon as I re-enable GPS Simulation mode, everything becomes normal again. Disabling GPS Simulation using real satellites signals, the above problems come back.

Tried this on 2 units - 65LM and 65LMT - and the results are exactly the same.

Could it be something I've done wrongly or missed in the map install process?

    Just to share my findings:

Map: City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT 2014.40

    2295641 (218mb JCV) - works with local Nuvi 765
    - Patched file does not work with Australian Nuvi 3597LM (picture is fuzzy)

    2295681 (218mb JCV)
    - Patched file does not not work with Australian Nuvi 3597LM (picture is fuzzy)

    2295660 (528mb JCV)
    - Works with local Nuvi 3790
    - Patched file shuts down Australian Nuvi 3597LM

    2295691 & 2295700 (528mb JCV)
    - Patched file shuts down Australian Nuvi 3597LM

    Cheers!

The tool successfully unlocked the following JCV files of City Navigator Thailand 2014.30 Dual on a US 2595LMT with the latest software version 8.20.
    J014709.JCV,
    split screen -212 x 234, 100MB
    THGLB.JCV, full screen - 400 x 366, 258MB
I didn't realized a 2595 can display JCV in full screen.
This is a great tool! Thank you.

The tool updated the JCV file you dragged. If you run (MD5) checksum on the original file and the dragged file you see different hash values.
