I may not be performing a search with the right words so i deeply apologize for a redundant question.

I have a Nuvi 1350T and i was wondering if it is possible to move files from the "City Navigator North America NT 2013.xx" into one of the Garmin Express directories and perform a map update?

I am just looking for a way to perform a full update of the maps.

I hope i explained my intentions ok.

Just an FYI, I used the Garmin Express already to update my maps using "City Navigator North America NT 2011.20" via Garmin.

Yeah... I am a bit out of date :o)

Just buy LifeTime Subscription to "City Navigator North America NT 2011.20" and Garmin Express will substitute any effort to read forum. In any case you must read all forum thread and pray for kindness of its users and uploaders!

As you stated, checking the 'Leave installation files ...' box gives a direct duplication in Temp dir of the normal gmap folder placed by MapUpdater in your XP's default directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps .... BUT... Express doesn't seem to have placed a 'normal' gmap folder in C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Core Update Service\MAP-EU-2013-30 by the look of roger1109's pics. And apparently it doesn't also drop the gmap folder into C:\...........\Maps. I'm hoping that's not right though. Maybe roger or zakon can say ....

I'd be very surprised if MapSource can work with those files as placed by Express in the Core Update Service folder. Has it also placed a gmap folder into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps? If it hasn't, why not try it with MS/BC and report back?

Since Garmin impose a duty of compilation IMG on user PC there is not any way get updated IMG without downloading full gmap folder plus GMAPPROM folder for full IMG subfiles like type, searching, traffic and single map description record in MPS. Any difference between MapUpdater, LifeUpdater or GarminExpress!

Some words about MapUpdater. Sequence of program action in a few words:
    1. Unchecked "Install map on PC... (Mapsource)" and unchecked "Leave installation files..." -
downloading gmap and GMAPPROM in Temp, compiling IMG, copying ready IMG to device, deleting gmap and GMAPPROM in Temp.
    2. Checked "Install map on PC... (Mapsource)" and unchecked "Leave installation files..." -
downloading gmap and GMAPPROM in Temp, compiling IMG, copying ready IMG to device, copying gmap to default Map folder, deleting gmap and GMAPPROM in Temp.

I think like you, wait for more fixes. Maybe still in beta release, just 'unofficial'.
