    I'm having some problems updating garmin express to the newer version. On my pc i have the 2.4.6.0 version and whenever i try to update to 2.5.6.0 i get an error in the middle of the update: "Failed, Try Again". I have no problems installing and running version 2.4.6.0 (which is the one available on the garmin website to download) but i can't update to the new one. My o.s. is win 7 and i already installed every update available on windows update. Any solution??

    Same here when I updated my brother's GE on his WinXP machine yesterday. I just hit 'OK' to the 'Try Again' pop-up, and the install goes to completion. I tried this twice, and both times the install finished. I now keep getting another error message pop-up asking which user/credentials I want to use when the PC boots up. I believe it's related to the GE Tray trying to startup... I gave up and told my brother to just click through that pop-up by hitting the 'OK'. Annoying but I can't seem to get rid of it no matter what I tried... I'm thinking of just removing GE, then install and use the WebMapUpdater like I do on my machines.

    I tried but the problem persists. I also noticed that when i try to install the new version (2.5.6.0) the installation bar reaches 50% in a bunch of seconds, then goes back a little and then the error pops up "Failed, Try Again". On the other hand installing the 2.4.6.0 works flawlessly. I also checked my net framework version (windows states 4.5.1). Maybe garmin express doesn't work with this version and requires and old one???

    System requirements:
    •Windows XP SP3 or newer, Microsoft .NET 4 Client Profile (included)
    •1024 x 768 display, USB port and 1 GB RAM
    •High speed Internet access (Not for use with dial-up, mobile or satellite connections)
    May require up to 13 GB free disk space

    Sorry no idea, if it's a .NET problem, I'd try to uninstall .NET , run this .NET Framework Cleanup Tool
    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links
    and reinstall it

    Second day in a row I'm receiving invitation from GE to install CN MENA 2014.30 on my SD card which has GarminDevice.xml file on it /short version discussed [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]/.
    I have download the map for free, try to install it on the unit, but then GE says "Sorry, there are errors in updating" as it was expected.

    I'm waiting for next GE update.. just to see what else may go wrong .

    @isg
    Are you using the original microSD for the failed update? Because i recall in the other thread you said you'd copied the card contents to another sd. If so, the card XML displays ID as 4294xxxxxx [disguised just in case] which i think is the OEM card's Serial No. and not your 3597's UID. If so, have you tried using GE with the original card complete with the xml file and also the copy card without it?

    I have returned to original sd card. All the recent tests I'm doing only with it. It is 4gb SanDisc HC.

    Have you tried without the xml file on it, or with another 'clean' card?
