Default Garmin Express With Nuvi 3597

I've just tried to update my nuvi 3597 with the new maps 2014.20 but garmin express stops and gives me three option:
    1)free up some space (recommended)
    2) use microsd card
    3) select a region

I have an sd inside my garmin but i'm not sure which option to pick (1 or 2).
And with the first one, what kind of files will garmin express delete?

You mean to misquote Keith Richards.

That is actually a Mandy Rice-Davies saying.

No, Keith said that about Mick. That's why the (They). The exact quote was 'He would say that wouldn't he?'. Mandy was talking about the something completely different to an artistic spat [let's not go there Girlfriend]. In my slightly mangled quote, the 'they' is Garmin.
