    Trying to make an img file visible in BaseCamp as per instructions in post #2 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    I have updated GMapTool to the latest version (0.6.1), opened an image file (in this case topo Benelux or topo Danmark) in GMapTool, but as several other members have already reported in the past, I too do not see any Ms window. In fact, several other windows are missing too. For comparison reasons, below I have copied the screenshot from the referred post and have added a screen shot which shows what I see on my PC:

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit:
    Fully as per Murphy's Law, I found the solution straight after posting the above issue...

    On the Options tab, enable Advanced options by placing a tick in the appropriate box. The missing windows are now shown on the Write tab.

    The "how to use it'" is pointed to a closed thread of an older version.

    I came her after a pointer in a thread on a waterways topo. It's one big .img file. the pointer told me with this app i should be able to make this file visible in mapsource and basecamp. the how to only gives a way to make the map visible in Basecamp and therefor the img file has to be installed on a USB or SD.

    This is not what I like. i would like to make these files visible in mapsource and basecamp while being installed on my harddrive in a Garmin directory for planning routes.

    does this work with the same method?

    Furthermore I have a littel problem with .img directories with multiple img files and supplied reg files. When I place such a directory in the garmin folder (uinlocked with a tool) and then merging the reg file doesn't work. The maps wont show in mapsource or basecamp. I'm ruuning a windows 7 platform. Is there another way to make this work?

    -edit- The Furthermore problem is solved by myself with some extensive searching in the forum. The register files deliverd with .img directories is mostly written only for 32-bit operating systems. The register file has to be expanded with two groups espacialy for 64-bit systems for EXAMPLE:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Garmin\Mapsource\Families\FAM_1395]
    "TYP"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395\\I0000573.TYP"
    "ID"=hex:73,05
    "IDX"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395\\product.mdx"
    "MDR"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395\\mdrmap.img"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Garmin\Mapsource\Families\FAM_1395\1]
    "TDB"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395\\product.tdb"
    "LOC"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395"
    "BMAP"="C:\\Garmin\\FAM_1395\\basemap.img"
