Enable estensions in Windows to see if it's not named gmapsupp.img.img, sometimes is happens

to kenta2: I formated SD card and did all things again, but no luck. Still my device couldnīt find the maps.

to catymag: file extension is img, that is also checked.

I red from other post that HomePort can use the maps even they are locked. I think that Garmin has invented new copy protection system? This 3.00 firmware update which I have in my 720 is from october 2010, if that helps.

    OK, now it is working.
I need to install into SD card first Garmin XT Mobile to see SD cards unit ID. Then I used JetMouse keygen and with card ID and generated gmapsupp.unl file. I also needed to rename the original file to gmapsupp.img. Then I put the SD card into 720 and it found the map!!! Only negative thing was that the usage of the device is very slow and sticky. Pressing the touch-screen buttons and panning the map is now very slow. GPSMAP 720 is famous for itīs speed and power, but now with my map itīs not - there is still something to fix.

I do not know if this is happening to others also, but at least mine new GPSMAP 720 with SW 3.00 did not accept maps which were unlocked with Fast IMG 1.5 or 1.7. But with SD card ID together with old keygen and "gmapsupp.img" and "gmapsupp.unl" files it worked. It would be nice to know if this only my case or if somebody else have succeed with new Garmin devices and Fast IMG or similar software.

catymag: I tried to unlock VEU050R with Fast IMG 1.7, but my GPSMAP 720 did not open the map. I tried to open it in my C: hard drive and then copied the img-file into SD cards Garmin folder. Did not work. After that I erased the SD-card and copied the "gmapsupp.img" and "gmapsupp.unl" files back to SD card and they open in my 720. I do not understand what is wrong with my actions?

    Default Thank You....

Thank you very much my friend. I have been trying to locate this file for quite some time now on several forums. Thank you once again.

It's a Windows software tool. Follow instructions in post #1. Basically to have the fast IMG unlocker and "gmapsupp.img" in the same directory and then run the application.
