This thread has been posted on 5-10-10 and updated with new versions and purged from some thanking posts, you'r the first one complaining about a search issue after unlocking-
you can check in previous thread too

Sorry no way to guess what's wrong in your map, may be can you give other details ?
Based on what you said, I went back to both program's changed logs, and did not see anything significant that would explain why I would get different results.
So I re-ran "Fast IMG Unlocker v.1.5 update 12-12-2010" on the same source img file, and I could not reproduce my earlier problem.
Everything looks like it is working just fine.
Something glitched on the first attempt and I cannot tell you why it happened.
It was such a weird failure. The only thing that was missing was the street names in the "Find Address" function.
Streets were there in the browse map, you could route to addresses, POIs were all there, all the City Names were there.
And the problem was not unique to Nuvi. The 76Cx had the same problem with the same img file.

Neither GPS complained that the img file was corrupt or there were any problems with it at all.

    Who knows.

use last Fast IMG Unlocker version, put the 2 files in the same directory, run FU and let it work till it doesnt close by itself, dont close command window, it will close when finished-

    Who knows.
I guessed you probably closed the command window before the end of the process

    With your IE
    Menu --> View-->Detailed <--Select
You should see .img if it's a right map file.
If not, just try to add .img

Thanks Catymag for a great unlocking tool. I have unlocked all of my maps with the exception of Garmin Discoverer 2.00, because I am using a 32 BIT computer with only 2 GB memory.

NOTE : If you run a 64 bit os it will unlock also Garmin GB Discoverer 150K Full Coverage IMG and maps with big IMGs (Garmin Unlocker will need 3GB memory to work) with other oses you can try 3GB Switch
Does using the 3 GB Switch allow the unlocker to work on a 32 BIT system with less than 3 GB of Memory?

    Regards Tarotbob

I downloaded it today and every time I try to UNRAR it, I get an error saying "Unexpected end of archive".

    File is corrupt ?

    What's the problem ?

Thank you very much for uploading the file and taking the time to answer all of the questions. Mine is if this method works with Garmin 421s? I have already created the file using the 1.6 unlocker but the GPS is in my boat at the marine so I have to wait until tomorrow to check if it works, but can you please let me know if I have to keep searching or if this method should work?. If not, any help you can give me will be highly appreciated. My garmin unit is as I said 421s with only basic worlwide maps and very low resolution when I zoom in. Thanks in advance.
