    kunix's brilliant gfw.exe has no problem reading HWID when unpacking to bin files:

    Hex 08DB = Dec 2267.

    RGN_tool needs some more tweaking. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Best only repack to RGN file with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] as RGN_Tool will almost certainly cock it up.

    @rabunz
    No, RGN_Tool doesn't unlock anything. It's for simple disassembling and re-assembling of firmware components. To use unlocked maps in your Drive 60 see [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Hi Niel, I have the patched gcd file, however my concern is that rgn tool does not read HWID of the Garmin Drive 60 file, is that something I should be concerned about or should I proceed with creating a rgn file and flash with updater. Thanks

    Niel, I apologize in advance if I am asking to much of you, however I want to be sure as to not mess up the Garmin Drive unit. So, if I understand you correctly, my Drive 60 has ver.3.50 on it already (latest), all I need to do is unpack the file from post 478 into the root of sd card after removing the previous update file from the device. Insert and boot device and wait for it to finish after which I should bt able to install any map file I want, is that right?
