In my case Mapsource is installed in c:\garmin\
The newest mapsource was installed ans then I installed mapsource_v6.16.2, and after that I replaced the Mapsource.exe file.
With the orginal exe-file the status of the map 2011 gives locked, and by the patched exe-file gives unlocked. So unlocking of the maps works in the patched exe-file.
Also a difference is that by receiving from the GPS I can make by the orginal exe-file only a choice for the GPS-device, and by the pathed version also for my disks.

Could by the problem that it is not installed in c:\programs\garmin ?
Or is the problem that I installed v6.12.2 over the newest mapsource version ?

you have your maps unlocked and send them to any disks or to your gps, tracks too- your MS is patched
I cant understand what's the problem-
may be the maps sent to your gps are locked?
If you have a new firmware you cant have them unlocked without .gma file
solution :send the map to C , unlock it with
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
copy in your gps renaming it in the right way

    Thanks for the information.
I still have problems with it.
    I can sent,from MS to the C-drive, and there I become a gmapsupp.img file.
I used Fast IMG unlocker, and after that I have two files the locked file gmapsupp_lock.img and the unlocked file gmapsupp.img.
But the next step is not clear for me.
Must I rename this file ? and how can I sent it to my etrex vista C (my GPS has no SD-card).
I used mapinstall in the same dir. Then I become the message that the card is locked, and I can't unlock it with Garmin_kgen.
Must I use MapInstall.exe to do this, ore a other tool ?

    -install the map "City_Navigator_Europe_NT_2011.10_Mapsource_install"
-use "Garmin_kgen_1.5+Fix" to unlock the map.
-I try to use "UnLock MapSource v1.3.1", but nothing changed.

My GPS is a Garmin Etrex vista C

    everything works fine except.
    - When I select a card, and I want to sent this to my GPS, I can only make a choice between my disk's and there is no choice for my GPS.
When I want to receive for example tracks from my GPS to my computer, than I can make a choice between all my disks and my GPS-device.

What can I do to solve this problem.

Connect your eTrex Vista C to your PC via its USB interface, and use your PC's Windows Explorer, please provide the following info:

    1. how much internal memory in your eTrex Vista C is available/unused space currently?

    2. what is the size of the existing 'gmapprom.img' file found inside the Garmin directory?

Are you trying to transfer the full CNEUNT2011.10 mapset (~1.86 GB) to the eTrex Vista C? I'm not familiar with the eTrex Vista C, but it may not have sufficient memory to store the entire mapset, and you might have to selectively choose and create a subset of maps that would fit using patched MapSource.

    The internal memory is 24mb
So I only want to sent a part of the map to my GPS, for example 18Mb.
That is not the problem I think.
I downloaded a other map "onroute fietskaart NL 1.62". By this map it is possible to sent it to my GPS.
I was looking on the site van garmin. There I found that maps to buy for my etrex vista c, the city navigator europe 2011 is not availible.
    Maybe is that my problem
The next step for me is now to try older maps, if I can find them.

Just wanted to be sure that we understand what we've to work with here... not a whole lot of memory.

Nothing I've read to indicate that maps from CNEUNT2011 would not work on the eTrex Vista C. So, let's see if we can get this working for you...

Next step is to please examine the Garmin folder with the eTrex Vista C connected to the PC, and list all the map-image files with the '.img' extension along with their file sizes. You should be able to replace at least one of these IMG files with the unlocked gmapsupp.img file that was generated by the Fast IMG Unlocker. Let us know what IMG files currently exist in the eTrex Vista C, and we can provide more detailed instructions for you.

I am very pleased with your help, thanks.
If my GPS is connected to my PC and is turned on, I see no extra disk appears in “Internet Explorer”. In “device manager” I find "Garmin devices" and "Garmin USB GPS". When I look in the menu of my GPS, I see that there is in it the card “City Navigator NT v8”, obviously a small part due to the 24MB.
Till now: When I use “onroute Fietskaart NL 1.62” in the window “sending to device” there is a selection for my GPS. But when I use a ‘City navigator” this selection is not there. In MS both ‘City navigator” maps are "unlocked", and “onroute Fietskaart NL 1.62” is "not lockable". And I see no possibility to look to the files inside of my GPS.
I tried to use “City Navigator NT v9”, with the same results as CNEUNT2011.

Any idea how we can solve this problem?

On Monday I go on holiday for 14 days, then I will give no response. I hope that you also want to help me after my holiday.

You see a listing for "CN NT v8" under the Map Info screen? Where did this come from? Did the eTrex Vista C came with this map originally when purchased?

Some Garmin GPS units do not allow user access to their internal memories, the eTrex Vista C might be one of them from what you've described.

Yes, I think you need to convert the CNEUNT mapset that is currently 'Unlocked' to the 'Not Lockable' status in MapSource so that maps could be transferred to your GPS.

Please read, follow the directions, and use the tools in the following thread by Midnight Blues:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The part that is most applicable to your situation is:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
Ignore the part regarding MapSource 6.13.7 as the latest patched MapSource works as well. The procedure is basically:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links

I got this GPS taken from a friend, he did have a DVD with v8, but he has thrown it away

    1. Run MapReverseConverter 4.0.
    2. Delete, remove or uninstall the original installed CNEUNT MapSource maps.
    3. Run All.bat from the Garmin Unlocker download.
After 1, 2 and 3 both maps include "city Navigator NT 2011.1 version 14.10 are "Not Lockable".

But it is still not possible to send parts from the CNEUNT2011-map to my GPS.

I use now MS 6.16.2 patched
