The Nuvi found it and promptly said it couldn't unlock the map..
So I ran the utility above, which worked flawlessly..
But even though gmapsupp.img is still there right alongside _lock.img, it doesn't detect the map at all.
But I did suspect my nuvi 310 may have trouble with vision g2 charts... amazing it runs pacific bluecharts v9
lock .img is your previous locked map
gmapsupp.img is the unlocked map already renamed to copy in your sd

I get error "GarminUnlocker.exe stop working"

Trying to unlock a BlueChart dated 2010.
The last lines it writes in the dos window is:

    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
    After "16.08235214.img [V0000046]" i get the error.
Have tried it on two computers.
The SD card also holds a gmapsupp.gma file.
Maybe the map is too new and canīt be used with the unlocker?

    Thanks for the great program

Just wondering if renaming the lock.img back to gmapsupp.img for storage of original locked map will indeed save the original map?

Followed your instructions to the letter, ran the file and it opened a Command window for a second or so and then closed it.
Apart from that absolutely nothing else happened!
    Any ideas folks?
The gmapsupp.img file is a locked Europe City Nav file.

have you put unlocker and the gmapsupp.img named map in the same folder ?

    Yes, of course!
Maybe the error was that the files needed to be in the root directory?
But anyway I found another method that worked brilliantly so all my problems are solved.
Great solution and works as advertised.
See: garmin-tutorials-discussions/110229-how-patch-unlock-garmin-img (sorry the forum won't let me post the link)
    Thanks anyway!
