    hi! to all,
does this mean I have to use the whole unlocked map?
and what could be the interest to upload my map in MapSource if I can’t get rid of countries (for Europe) or districts (for China) I don’t need and save that way my storage space?
I’m currently downloading the 2010 China map – thank you for this sharing!

This is just to show the map in Mapsource, like a demo version, if you dont have the original MS installation-
You can use Basecamp too to show an img on your pc-
To transfer a searchable map in your device use original Mapsource installations or copy directly the img in your unit-

after doing what you recommend, in mapsource->map management produce I see the map what I want to upload to mapsource. However, in mapsource (main window) I didn't see anything. No matter what I did, zoom in/out. Anything that I missed?

    Thanks.

What you see in Map Product Information , it said "Unlocked" or "Not Loackable" ?
If yes, Try to zoom out to maximun level.

Or just create a waypoint (ie enter coordinate for somewhere in Europe for Europe map) and save --> click on waypoint to "show on map".

Why is it I cannot see the files in my directory after splitting using Gmaptool. I can see the split .img files with Gmaptool but they are not visible to Mapsource. When I split I was not able to run install.bat as I could not see the file in my folder. I'm using the Mapsource 6163 special as directed in the first post and followed instructions. I'm using Windows 7. Where do I go from here??

I installed Garmin's Mapsource and replaced .exe with the program and patch from this site. I installed cgpsmapper using Freesetup and MS GUI from this site. Also Maptoolkit. When I ran the cgpsmapper and followed your instructions the files appeared to be split and in the designated folder. However I cannot see these files using the MS file manager. I do see them in cgpsmapper but in Mapsource or Basecamp. Log no longer there. Should I do it over again and report log. (not sure how to do this).
