everyone trusts his AV till it fails
I trust Nod and Microsoft Essentials, I'm using them since a lot ,no false alarms and no problems-
I disregard antiviruses that give false alarms coz unfortunately they are unable to scan compressed exe and give warning when detecting compression. Eg with unlockers.
The same can happen with a real virus and they may be dont detect it.

Thank you very much for your reply and assistance. I am a marine navigator and all of your stuff help me sort it out. I try to convert garmin chart to the other S57 or ENC Chart. Sorry if i was posting on the wrong thread.

    Extracting POIs... Mmmm! Interesting.

1- Which file contains the POIs? .TYP? .MD2?
2- If one of those, I guess they are encrypted. Sounds like a challenge for me...

    Edit:

3- Why do I get a "Cannot open USB port" with my 3750? Do I need a service cable or do I need to put the GPS in a special mode?

    @ Turbo

-> 3- Why do I get a "Cannot open USB port" with my 3750? Do I need a service cable or do I need to put the GPS in a special mode?

This function is for older garmin devices that support garmin protocol for communication like etrex, gpsmap etc. where POIs and maps are stored in a non-accessible part in the memory.

BTW maybe you will be interested what I have wrote here:

GPS like 60Csx or etrex have marine POI (for example tides) in firmware, the same way like basemap. You can download this POI to PC using gpsdaemon. You can find them on Garmin site too, as a firmware update.
    Thanks, Kanopus

OK, I think I get it. I thought it was possible to extract all POIs from the map file, but that does not seems to be the case. If I had access to the POI file within the map, I could use my brain to extract them as plain text.
