Thanks for the link but I have no idea where to find the "140.bin" file. I guess this kind of relates to the feature list html file asked from dasilvarsa to which I have no idea where to find it as well. How do I find those require files? Any help again would totally be appreciated again, sorry for being retarded

Also, how do I find/get into this path location --> In the folder. \ System \ Diag \ html \ supported_features.html

Thanks for the info but I tried those before and it does not show the ".system" for my 3490LMT at all. However, it does show that folder for my Nuvi 50LM, this is freakin weird! See attachments.

And for the "140.bin" I still can't find that since I don't even see the ".system" ...Any other ideas?

    @3490lmt
My best guess there is that you've enabled to show hidden items locally for the nuvi 50 folder when it was open, but then the changes haven't been saved universally, so you then can't see hidden files and folders for your 3490.
Unhide permanently via Control Panel>Folder Options>View, enable the radio button for 'Show hidden files, folders and drives'. Click 'OK'.

140.bin is not something you can 'see' in the unit. It's a backup or copy of a particular unit's non-volatile region 140 [rgn140]. Please read the other thread already linked, but quite frankly i'm not sure what you'll achieve because I believe dasilvarsa is correct and ecoRoute should be available to your 3490 [Main Page 'Where To?/Map'>Apps>EcoRoute and you can set up your profile. However, in some localities it's not free as OEM and you may have to make a purchase of the App.

Your nuvi 50 is not capable of using ecoRoute.

Ok, I'll try the mass storage feature when i get home. But I think catymag is probably right with the mass storage solution because my 3490 does shown the "orange" computer and listed as a device when USB connected to the PC and not my nuvi 50, its white and shows up as mass storage. I'll let you guys know what i find later.

Neil, I guess dasilvarsa wanted to see my 3490 supported features, so that's why i was trying to look for the hidden ".system" and the "140.bin"...But again for setting up the ecoRoute profile, I was able to do that when I first tried it. It did let me choose the "car type, gas type, city mpg, highway mpg, and fuel cost." But as soon as I finish doing that, it ask for the HD accessory unit, and I cannot get any further than that. So now, everytime I tried to open the ecoRoute app, it will keep asking me to connect the HD accessory unit in order to use it. So what I'm trying to do here is to use my ecoRoute app without having to purchase the HD accessory unit, if that's possible? I seen on some threads, there's a "standard" ecoRoute and "HD" ecoRoute, and it looks like I have the HD version. So my question is, can I use the ecoRoute without having to purchase the HD accessory unit and/or change my ecoRoute app to the "standard" version? Once again, sorry for my stupidity and thank you guys for all the help.

dasilvarsa, I finally see the file, here it is! Thanks to catymag! It was in the MTP mode.

I still don't know what this have to do with my ecoRoute problem/concern but can someone still answer my previous questions (#36)? If it's no, can't be done, I can live with it, I just want to test it out if it works.

Sometimes i can't see the wood for the trees, it should have been obvious to me that you hadn't enabled MSM. Thanks goodness for Caty.

Have you tried to mod rgn140 previously or did you buy this unit 2nd hand, because I agree with dasilvarsa's statement in Post #28:
I think that you have enabled eco-route features not needed.
What that means is that in 140.bin the box for 'ecoRoute HD' and maybe 'ecoRoute Purchase' were checked and then it was flashed back to mod rgn140. If that's the case, the HD function would be 'hiding' ecoRoute Standard. i.e. It was done as in this pic from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Please go over to that thread, carefully read the initial post there, especially the 'New and Easy Procedure' by cat2115 at the end of post #1. Note that those 2 boxes i mentioned should not be checked, that's been discussed extensively in the thread:

    ih3wqr

If you want to enable extra feature such as mp3 and Video Player in your 3490, check those boxes when you uncheck ecoRoute HD & Purchase. This is my 3490's supported_features.html and i still have ecoRoute Standard because i unchecked HD & Purchase, and checked Standard as well as all the other boxes before saving:

Try to add Ecoroute standard with
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Follow cat2115's quote from post n1- Note: he says not to check ecoroute because standard is already set usually in 34xx ,but you can try.
Make a backup of region 41 before using it.
