On initial install of both 2.01 and 2.02 the .exe was unresponsive. Upgrading to 2.04 resolved the issue- in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I know in post #18 it said that the Fishing Chart has to contain th data to be viewable by Homeport, but if you have Marine view, and Fish Eye, should your card have the data for the Fishing Chart, or does the Fishing Chart data have to be transfered to the sd card from the Garmin unit before it can be seen with Homport?

The Fishing Chart is inherent part of BlueChart G2 maps. But vice versa you can disassemble img file with gmaptool and send only Fishing Chart in device

I'm not quite sure I understand, How to differentiate the Fishing Chart? It's probably cause I am missing something. I have a Garmin 441s with the current ver 3.7 firmware. The Map I am using is Cali & Mexico-VUS021R for fishing. In Homeport I can view and plot waypoints etc. However, In the Chart Product Manager, this is what I have:

    Chart Product Info:
    cFvwH

    Unlock Region:
    puJvF

Sorry, I am still learning how to post pics.

The Fishing Chart is only simulate info!
Usualy the map have existent depth spot and line. For the Fishing Chart Garmin use special algorithm which model more frequent depth line up to 1 meter based on existent depth spot and line. It is not true in the most case but it is more graphic and very useful for trolling, for example.

I'd be very grateful for help please!

I've downloaded all 10 rar files from megaupload and WINRAR'd them into one gmapsupp.img file on a 4GB SD card.
I've also loaded HomePort onto my desktop which opens onto global map.
It sees the SD card but the only file in is an 'untitled' file which won't open.

On the SD card, I have ----garmin file, then gmapsupp and userdata folders. In gmapsupp folder is the gmapsupp.img file

I am a novice so any help will be gratefully received!

    Many thanks

you need just a Garmin folder in sd and the unlocked gmapsupp.img inside it, or the locked gmapsupp.img and its .unl file

Thanks for the quick reply. I wonder if as its a previously unlocked version, I will use the GMapTool.exe to see if I need to remove the MPS subfile.

I'll let you know how I get on...

if locked to unlock you can simply use
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
if it has been badly unlocked, better to download if it's possible a locked map and redo the unlocking
    Homeport shows even locked maps-

Just ran GmapTool.exe and no MPS file appeared on line 4, hence nothing to change. Still unable to open on HomePort.

The version I downloaded was from VEU706L 11.5 post from megupload. Others seem to have got it working ok...and I think its already an unlocked version.

Will I need to lock it to use it or should an unlocked version work on both the HomePort and chartplotter?

I can't check on the Garmin chartplotter for a couple of weeks but I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks again for the speedy replies - much appreciated

    Paul
