    I have down loaded the city navigator Garmin City Navigator Southeastern Asia v4.50 NT and unpacked it and i get a file called gmapprom_2.img and not the gmapsupp file mentioned. Ive also downloaded the 1.5 kegen with the fix and created a unl file called gmapprom.unl and this does not seem to work. any help wou;ld be gratefully recieved as im getting short of hair on my head now! thanyou [QUOTE=catymag;477872]file uploaded on server
    thanks
    i move it in proper section and stick it
    sorry i must spread

    instructions:
    to unlock an unlocked IMG
    rename the map gmapsupp.img and unlock with jetmouse keygen creating the unl file with notepad

    on jetmouse keygen v1.5 put either the 10 digit gps unit id number (will be unlocked only in your gps)or the sd serial # (it will be unlocked in any gps you put the sd card
    under-select map product --on the bottom ---custom map set---add the maps FID# also called mapid #

    click generate a few times on the bottom-all those numbers will unlock the map--copy that 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file --- don't add a enter --just 25 digits on the first line ----
    on a sd card create a garmin directory--in that directory copy your gmapsupp.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapsupp.img (g2 map)
    When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents".

    It can depend on many factors, you should tell us:
    which device do you have
    if you have latest firmware
    if you'r installing it on internal or sd memory
    if you have other maps installed
    etc

    unlock the maps if it's locked, rename it gmapsupp.img
    and use this

    if its already unlocked you dont need it - If you have another map on your sd ,rename it gmapsup2.img and copy it in the Garmin directory in sd

    Default RE: Unlocking GPI-files

    It's possible to detect FID (MapID), PID, RgnID and VenID by reading the GPI-file. Using a HexEditor is an advantage.
    The 5th byte (at address 0x04) shows an offset. Use this offset +3 bytes to find the relative start from byte 5. At this address we find MapId (2 bytes swapped), PID (1 byte), RgnID (1 byte) & VenID (1 byte). You will then take all of the 5 bytes and use them in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. You will of course also need the memory card ID (CID) or unit ID to generate a 25-char unlock code that works for your memory card or GPS unit.

    Example with 4 gpi files:
    mac5mr

    rijeka_tourist_guide.gpi (NOT locked, no need for UNL-file):
    DE 03 01 00 00 -> (Hex) 3DE, 1, 0, 0 -> (Dec) 990, 1, 0, 0

    Fodors_2008.gpi:
    84 03 05 01 00 -> (Hex) 384, 5, 1, 0 -> (Dec) 900, 5, 1, 0
    Use generated 25-char unlock code in "Fodors_2008.unl"

    6_34_safetycam.gpi:
    84 03 09 06 22 -> (Hex) 384, 9, 6, 22 -> (Dec) 900, 9, 6, 34
    Use generated 25-char unlock code in "6_34_safetycam.unl"

    MPFullEurope.gpi:
    84 03 01 01 01 -> (Hex) 384, 1, 1, 1 -> (Dec) 900, 1, 1, 1
    Use generated 25-char unlock code in "MPFullEurope.unl"

    Both GPI-file and UNL-fiile should normally be stored together in the "POI" folder.
