    Default MMI versus Satguide/Destinator versus Garmin Mobile XT

    Finally got all three working. was previously using destinator 7.5 with Nov 08 Maps and Garmin MXT with unlocked Sep 08 Maps. Comparison as given:
    Satguide/Destinator
    Satguide 8.0 keeps freezing, so back to 7.5 with new Maps 09. Is nothing more than increasing the POI database. Some maps are sketchy and incorrect. Seems to be accurate in Hyderabad, B'lore and south only.
    Garmin Mobile XT with City Navigator India Beta Ver 2
    This was accurate in towns but sketcy on highways, in '08 ver maps. But CNI2009 Beta V2 is GOOD! better than Satguide and is mostly accurate in towns, now is accurate on Highways too.
    Map My India Miero Black version with 2009 Maps
    Boy this is just amazing. Has a very large database of POIs for even the small and chuddu towns you cross on highways. Road database is as accurate as googlemaps even in tiny towns and villages. largest size of map database (160 Mb) but with a slightly difficult to use interface.
    so the grading in ascending order of merit is as given below. First is MMI and last is Destinator/Satguide.
    Any further inputs from u guys?

    How do I Set up the GPS to COM2 / 4800 as I don't see the Set button in the "GPS Setup" option.

    Got it working on ASUS P835 on landscape mode (atleast the gps signal is now found) changing the ordinale.ini to
    [GPS]
    ;Found=com2:,57600,8N1,hardware (Got this idea from Garmin using intermediate driver instead of any port)
    use_id_driver=1

    Garmin is amazing atleast in Delhi (Just the names of places a bit tricky - Mapmyindia is official map partner for Garmin that might be the reason they has tricked the names Saket appears as South you cannot find Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi Rly stn) but once you got hang of it - there is nothing like it I am looking for a tool to convert mapmyindia map files to garmin img files - Till now in vain but search in on -- if anyone knows about a tool which can convert viaGps .cpf files to Garmin .img file please post.
