    1. After complete installation, you have to create a folder in extcard like that :
    /storage/extsdcard/oruxmaps/mapfiles
    2. in mapfiles, copy maps as you want.
    3. Open the application.
    4. In the right top corner, open the 3 points to have Global settings.
    5. Open Maps.
    6. Open Folder for maps and choose /storage/extsdcard/oruxmaps/mapfiles.
    7. Close the application and reopen it.
Then you have to try the maps.
    1. Open Maps (top right below the 3 points).
    2. New map.
    3. Offline
    4. Only have to select a map.
    That's all !
After step 7, under global settings, the map destination folder has not changed.

It still shows the internal memory folder.

Why can't your app automate this process?

    Please advise.

    Hello Dave !
Maybe, the problem is coming from the model of phone.
I own a phone GT-N7100 (Note 2) in 4.1.2 and a tablet 10' Samsung SM-T520 in 4.4.2 (no root) and all is ok.

Sometimes, uninstall (apk and folder) and reinstall is a solution.

    Hi,

I installed last OruxMaps v6.0.7 on an android tablet.

An Orux(raster)Map made from MOBAC and transferred to the tablet was very well displayed.

But I experienced a strange issue : last OruxMaps versions are supposed to read .img Garmin maps.
I filled tablet with two .img files : the first one, a free one (Topo Pireneos V6.img) was well displayed, whereas a commercial map unlocked with gimgunlock (Topo France Pro v3) showed strange lines and was unreadable (see screenshot below) :

I think Orux cant display Garmin NT maps, it can read maps compiled by cGPSMapper or other free compilers only

    I'm running Android v4.4.

Try your installation procedure with 4.4 and you'll see the problems.

Galaxy s5 noroot, 4.4 No problem for Orux to read maps from the card.
When in Orux you choose the final folder (\...\...\mapfiles\) on the card, don't press back or home, you have to press and hold the name "mapfiles" in order for Orux to accept the change of the maps location.

    Hello,
I am one new user, and i have one big problem to solve. After download the last version and install i try to open one IMG file, but it does not work. I put the IMG in the mapfiles folder, and the orux "reads" the file but does not show anything. Help needed. Thanks in advance.
