Maybe the database does not contain any safety cameras for the stretch you simulated. Mind you: I'm not saying there are no safety cameras along the stretch you simulated. All I say is that those specific safety cameras may not be in the database used. Move your simulation to another stretch or even another country.

The fact that the database shows in the About menu confirms that it is properly recognised and loaded into your device.

I have one question, if you use more than one GPI file, for intance netherlands and belgium, do they both use 700 as FID, and do they have the same unlock code.

Yes they both can use FID 700 and the will a different unlock code because the files are different

I have installed the Cyclops unlocked file.
Under "proximity alerts" I see "Garmin red light cameras" and "custom POIs". Under "device"->"about" "extras and red light cameras" there's two entries. One is the older Cyclops data from Dec 2015 and another for Cyclops data from Aug 2016. I zoomed all around the map but couldn't find any cameras.
Does this mean the firmware is allowing me to use unlocked Cyclops files?

Update: I removed all the files in POI folder except the August Cyclops file. Under "proximity alerts" only "Garmin red light cameras" appear. I think this is a good sign. But I still couldn't find any cameras when zooming around on the map.

Hi Neil, tested FID 700 PID 1 RgnID 0 VenID 0 + UNL file and FID 900 PID 9 RgnID 0 VenID 0 + UNL file on simulated and real drive, both work fine on a Nuvi 2599/C4 with software version 8.50

They both can use FID 700 and they can have the same unlock code in seperate unl files, each gpi file has its own unl file with the same unlock code. In my device I have netherlands, belgium and greece installed this way and it works perfectly.

Thanks for reporting back. That's the result i had expected.

On the subject of the codes for multiple FID 700/900 GPI files, both previously proffered answers in this thread are in themselves correct but not exclusively. Provided the GPI & UNL files names match [e.g. 'safety_camera_Netherlands.gpi' teamed with 'safety_camera_Netherlands.unl; safety_camera_Portugal_Spain.gpi with safety_camera_Portugal_Spain.unl' etc.], the locked original file has had it's FID changed with PGFT and an UNL codes has been correctly generated with JM for either 700 1 0 0 or 900 9 0 0 as relevant, then either (i) that SAME code can be used in multiple UNL files or (ii) a different code can be generated for each.

    Hi there,
Following the discussion on this thread, I have:
    1. downloaded locked GPI file.
    2. I changed the FID to 700 1 0 0 with PGFT
    3. generated the UNL file following the instruction from @Catymag
    4. ensure both files have the similar pattern as pointed by @Neil
    5....

Now I am stuck, how do I put these files into the unit? Stick them on and SD Card under directory called garmin?

    Thanks for any pointers.

G'day again Gillian. You're making progress, so far so good. Now for 5. From [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], first post:

Put both files in the same POI directory. If your nuvi 2597 has any existing GPI files for AU in a POI folder remove them, that includes the OEM file "AustraliaNewZealandCyclopsSample.gpi" if present.

    Hi All,
Just would like to report back that everything worked fine. I tested on 2597LMT and 3590LMT. I did not try the unlock version on 3590 though. Sincerely would like to thank @Neil for the guidance.
