They buy base from third developer. This data contain a very poor info. I had tested it and forget about it after test trip. There are the obsolete data and a great deal of mobile camera locations with almost zero chance to meet a police car in these point. I think somebody from Russia cheat Cyclops as usualy...

BTW, if it wasn't clear by now, safety_camera_Czech_Poland_Slovenia.gpi is in fact for Czech Repubilc, Poland and Slovakia (not Slovenia). Data for Slovenia is in safety_camera_Italy_slovenia.gpi. What used to be Czechoslovakia are now two countries: Czech Republic and Slovakia. Sometimes confusing if you are not from this neck of the wood.

Certainly seems it's confusing for Garmin, or they know and don't care. It was discussed [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] earlier, but i'd forgotten about it. Probably Garmin can't be bothered fixing it along with the stupid bug which makes that file and AU appear updated with every release. And yes, i was living in the past saying Czechoslovakia for Czech Republic, sorry. Hard for us nether-worlders to keep up with the massive changes in the Old World. I'd have thought that those 3 countries are more properly described as part of Central Europe, but a well-respected local Geography expert [Garmin] describes them as 'Eastern Europe' and 'Features coverage of Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Slovenia'. Got both the 2 confusing 'Slov....' countries in there. Huh! And since when were Hungary and Romania part of Eastern Europe anyway ..... Just more of their cock-ups i guess

As already proven i'm no expert on current EU geography, but I'd reckon all of those Countries are part of Central Europe except maybe Rumania has a foot in both camps.

Historically, all these countries were described as part of Eastern Europe, due to them belonging to Warsaw Pact (Soviet led counterpart to NATO). Being behind "Iron curtain", former East Germany, Poland, Czechoslowakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Soviet Union were called commonly Eastern Europe. Former Yugoslavia (now 6 independent countries) were also thrown into that bucket despite never being member of Warsaw Pact, but having same Slavic heritage (Romanians and Hungarians, and East Germans, are not of Slavic origin).

When most of this historic fact are now forgotten, it doesn't make sense to refer to them all as Eastern Europe, because most of them, geographically, are certainly not there.

Yes, I think that if Garmin are using the former 'Cold War'/'Iron Curtain' definition of 'Eastern Europe', as it applies politically, they also need a lesson in diplomacy as well as geography!

It is completely ready to use renewed database from Cyclops data. It is maintained by Garmin Ltd and Cyclops UK Ltd.
If you want to add in your device own speedcam points you must use free Garmin POILoader program.

No Turkey sorry, not as individual country or as part of Eastern EU or EU generally:

Turkey's not listed, so 'Comprehensive Coverage' must refer to coverage within the supported countries, not comprehensive coverage of all countries i suspect.
