You need to follow the instructions on how to create a .unl file or roll back your firmware, .unl is the easiest way.

Just read the OP fully, step by step.

I believe he's saying that no matter whether he places the POI folder containing Cyclops *.gpi in an SD card, either inside a Garmin folder or directly in the card's root, it's not detected by his nuvi 2589 since he got it. If placed in the nuvi's internal memory in POI folder it works. I'm also inferring from that he's been able to have both those paths working previously with another device before he bought the 2589, but that was maybe a different card. [In explanation: Placement of POI/Poi/poi named folder is not crucial and can even be named 'XXX', also loose individual *.gpi files may also work scattered around in root etc., much like *.mp3 files do work that way in devices capable of playing them].

Problem could simply be his media card of course. Other reports are welcome regarding user experience in use of Cyclops in microSD with 2xx9 series.

    Hello guys,

I have a nüvi 2699 with firmware 8.4. So it is above 8.3 with which it was possible to use the unlocked speedcams.
So far I have tried the following which did notwork:

    1. I toook my Unit ID from the GarminDevice.xml file
    2. Copied the most current LOCKED speedcams GPI files into POI
    3. Created an empty UNL file via notepad
    4. Used JM-KG-v1.5_5Digit_ChecksumFix to create an Unlock code with Unit ID and custom mapset (FID 700)
    5. Copied Unlock code in the UNL file which is named the same as the speedcam LOCKED file
    6. Copied the UNL in the same directory as the speedcam GPI file

Unfortunately, it did not work. What have I down wrong?
Do all UNL files need to contain the same code? DO I need to hvae for every GPI file a UNL file before it works?

    Yes

Yes, one .unl for any .gpi you copy in gps, done with
    FID 700 PID 1 RgnID 0 VenID 0 + UNL file
    or
    FID 900 PID 9 RgnID 0 VenID 0 + UNL file -
Be sure the extension of *.unl files is correct.

    Hi, the same here
Unfortunately I updated my nuvi 2599C4 from v8.3 to v8.5 and safety cameras stopped working. Tried everything as mentioned with FID 700 and 900 without any luck. Back to software v8.4 and still no luck. Even in software v8.3 the locked safety cams didn't work with the unl file. But in v8.3 the unlocked ones worked again, so at the moment I'm happy.
Still don't know why it didn't work, did everything the right way. Used unl files before so I know how it works.
    Any ideas??

Yes, I've seen it smokefree. Tried everything again with 1 gpi file....
Nuvi 2599/C4 v8.3 not working with locked gpi files and fid700/900 unl file, proximity alerts is NOT visible in menu and safety camera 1 km from my home not detected. When I put the original sample gpi file (which came with the device) in the POI directory proximity alerts is visible again in the menu. Also when I put the unlocked gpi files in the POI directory proximity alerts is visible in the menu, also the camera 1 km from my home is detected.

In software v8.4 and v8.5 nothing works on the Nuvi 2599/C4 and proximity alerts is not visible in the menu.

What you are reporting for your 2xx9 seems to be the opposite of what the OP eventually found works in his 2xx7 in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
