I have tried them all and the voice that really helps you drive is 'Arnold Schwarzenegger'.

It just grabs you when he shouts "PAY ATTENTION"!

G'day Kiebasa, welcome to GPS Power. Congrats on your first post which i've moved to this existing thread.

Your 2597 can use PigTones voices .vpm with their original naming as in the pack from Post #1 [note, not vbm extension as in your post]. It's only old devices such as nuvi 300/600 which have to use English_American_.vpm naming. None of the voices are TTS.

So all i have to do is rename the file and they will show up on my gps as what i named them to? apologies i get confused easily... from what i had been reading I thought i could only use 1 voice at a time if it was labeled American_English and that i couldnt rename it cause it wasnt TTS and so the TTS voice editor program wouldnt work. also gracias for grats on my first replay and for the help

To be perfectly clear: Because your nuvi 2597 is a 'new' device it can use the original PigTones naming and as such you can have any number of 'PigTones' voices loaded to choose from [e.g. PIGTones Arnold.vpm; PIGTones Beavis and Butthead.vpm; PIGTones Clint Eastwood.vpm; PIGTones Elvis.vpm etc., etc.]. You are NOT limited to only using the 'generic' naming of 'English_American_.vpm'. You don't need to use any program to re-name them, just right-click the file and name it appropriately, or better still, download the RAR file from the initial post and use those files which are already named individually rather than the files you already have. BTW, you can't use TTSVoiceEditor to do anything with these NON-TTS voices, clearly.

I believe this was one i downloaded but i noticed a couple of the files had the English name and some had Pigtones Beavis and butthead etc. I feel stupid lol all i had to do was right click and rename it when i thought i had to find a way to edit the file itself. Yea i found out the hard way about TTSVoiceEditor not working with non tts voices. You sir are a heroe and a rock star. now if i could figure out why my pc lags like crazy when im on this forum
