Did you remember to save as 'all files' not 'txt' in notepad?
newbie here needs help....
i followed every step from everyone that made it work, but i just can't make it work
my unit is 50lm which is compatible with premium voice
I used garmin unlock generator v1.5
I chose custom generate map then use the create function and put in the correct FID, PID, region ID and vendor ID.
I use the infouc file to check on the id i created earlier. it said it's valid.
I put this in note pad, save as .unl and then put it in the voice folder with the vpm file.
I just don't see the darth vader in my language choice......
someone please help

Make sure your file is name Yoda.unl and not Yoda.txt.unl.
And that its with Yoda.vpm.
Just to be safe, make sure the file names are in the same case size although it may not matter.
they are .unl files not .unl.txt
I even rename both file to something as simple as D.vpm and D.unl
I tried to have the following info either inside .unl or not
DarthVader.vpm, TieFighter.srf
---------------------------------------------
Family ID : 480
Product ID : 22
Region ID : 0
Vendor ID : 0
---------------------------------------------
I tried to move some of the buid in language out of the device
nothing seems to work for me
Instructions for creation of UNL-files for locked Voice files:
- Open JetMouse KG v1.5 with checksum fix.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]- Use "Select Map Product" drop-down list and choose "<custom mapset>" at the bottom of the list.
Enable additional fields and enter FID and PID values. Press "OK".
- Enter your Unit ID (up to 10 digits) in the textbox at the top of the KG.
Then press the second "Generate" button placed at the bottom of the application GUI.
- Copy the 25 character unlock code and paste that into a text editor like Windows Notepad.
No carriage returns or line feeds. Just 25 characters producing a 25 byte text file with the UNL-extension. In this case "DarthVader.unl". Make sure that the file is plain text and without a trailing ".txt" file extension.
- Copy the UNL-file together with the VPM-file to the Garmin unit and the Voice directory. Turn on the unit and select/enable the newly unlocked voice.
It should work now if the Garmin unit is compatible with the VPM-file and that the UNL-file are valid with correct data.

I recently installed star wars voice on my nuvi 255 it works great however I've noticed that if you go off the selected route either intentionally or acccidently that when the gps goes to recalculate route it will freeze and you have to shut it off and restart it again for it to work I have read all threads in this section and don't see any others with this complaint just wondering if anyone has any idea as to why this is happening.
