    Default WinCE6 Files hidden

Any way to see the file structure in my WinCE6 sat nav? Nothing shows up when i plug it in the computer. I am trying to see the path so i can run Primo from the SD card but having no joy. \SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe on an ini file does nothing.

Not again and again. Once i make a mistake. Sorry for being human and making a mistake.

Device is a Binatone U605 running NDrive. This is a lot better software than Binatone of old and i would Keep using it but i need West Europe maps and they want my kidney for this. I also have a copy of Primo truck for CE so was thinking i may as well try this but no joy due to the SD card path not working. I did notice the UK and Ireland maps installed in the NDrive is TomTom so if there was a way to put them in i would be just as happy. I also remember reading a while back i could use TT or Here maps in iGo but unsure if that is true. I would also be just as happy scrubbing the ROM and installing Primo direct to device if this is possible also. Whatever is easiest.

Now starting to think there is something wrong with this unit as i cant seem to do anything with the SD card slot. No SD running software works. NDrive update software will not connect either to try and get in that way. NDrive are being supportive and giving other connection software to try but as yet no joy. One piece of software did say Processor not supported what may be a good sign as i have a 2nd laptop with a different Processor. Unfortunately that is running LInux mint so ill back that up and stick windows back in and try it all again. If no joy its the bin for Binatone.

Yeah seen it thanks and sys text was changed like his but still no joy. Also looks like he is using the older Binatone software im also wondering if the SD card path differs. By this i mean the name SDMMC.

Try taking the card out off the unit, and put it in a card reader then go to my computer open the reader and your files will be there,
Just a reminder copy all the card to a folder something like Igo then if you lose anything you will have a full working backup.

Nah mate, you half misunderstand or its the way i wrote this down. What i wanted was to get in the sat nav to see the files and see what it called the SD card as SDMMC was not working when using an SD card. As it happens the laptop i was using was half the problem as Windows Mobile Device Centre did not work so used another computer and i could get in. Still cant get the SD card to work but i think that is due to the sat nav being locked or something. What i could do as i cant delet anything i managed to move the folder called MobileNavigator into another folder named anything as long at the sat nav cant read it. Created a new MobileNavigator folder into this i put my Primo software. Added a line to the sys tex (app="MobileNavigator") and bobs your uncle its working. Getting an error message when i exit the program but apart from that no issues. Ill look into the sys tex more as i may try and get it to read maps from SD card so i can get full Europe on as i must be close to full with west as it is.

Often in such cases when you cannot see the file system of the PNA, the navigation is called from the .ini file on the SD card. For example if you copy Primo folder to SD card and the executable is Primo.exe you should manually create file shell.ini or GpsShell.ini (or you can try with both at the same time) and manually set the path to .exe file inside that file. Check the attachment. Extract and copy both files to the SD root beside the Primo folder. If that doesn't work, open both .ini files and try to replace "SDMMC" with "Storage Card"
