    Default SMEG iv2 Navigation

    Hello everyone.

I bought a second hand SMEGiv2 on ebay and installed it on a ds3 and realize that it doesn’t the navigation icon.

There are multiple version of SMEGiv2 with and without navigation or there is something that I can enable (via diagbox) to enable navigation?

    Regards,
    lzsilva

    Default DS3 with a SMEG+IV2 ? Pls enlighten me ...

    @lzsilva

the SMEG Audio comes without navigation, but that's not a SMEG+iV2.

According the my famous sticky, the DS3 came with a RT6 'til MAy 2015.
    Since June 2015 it sports a SMEG+IV2.

Is your unit really that new?

What might be the different SMEG+IV2s your talking about? Pls. provide more info.

So I suggest you photograph the unit and post the pics here. Pls also shoot the label of the unit, if you like.

The unit has to be hardcoded to fully function in your car, did you know that?

    Greetz,

    Wayne

    Hi Wayne,

Unfortunately I'm still looking for a dealer that can enable the functions for me (I think I will get on Saturday).

Below you can see my HU and fw version:
    DSC 0012
    DSC 0016

For comparison, now the image of a friend's HU who has the navigation enabled (same fw version):

    Default Coding necessary

    @lzsilva

Smart buy! A WiFi-enabled SMEG! Cool

Congratulations! This unit it really the best of all SMEGs! It already has the very latest soft 6.1.D.R20 which is not available anywhere to download or buy.

The label says 6.1.D.R8, so this one has already been updated before. This might also be a reason for a malfunction, if the previous owner did the update himself.
I really think you unit has not been properly coded for your car, because as for as I know, the failure to hardcode the VIN into the headunit make some functions to fail altogether.
I read somewhere that this actually affects the navigation system. So it would be really nice of you would keep us informed when the coding is done. Let the tecs ensure that MirroScreen also will be able.
Afterwards, it is likely that the maps and POIs have to be installed again.

It is also possible to factory-reset the unit with an official diagnosis software only dealers have. That erases erverthing on the unit, including all flash memories, even the boot code. It has then to be reinitialised all over again.

But this is really the very very last resort and must be done with an official dealer who knows what he's doing very well.

Have fun with your fine unit and see you around!

    Wayne

    Thanks Wayne,

You have no ideia how hard is to get a help from dealerships here in Brazil - they only work “according the manual” and everything outside the box is “impossible”.

We will keep it updated as soon we code the smegs.

I posted a download link to this new firmware -> [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Hi,

Last Saturday my friend and I configured ours SMEGs+iv2 in a dealership. Here is a few comments about it.

Both devices configured with a VIN from a DS3 originally equipped with SMEG+IV2.

SMEG+IV2 PN 98 153 553 80 - with jukebox (internal harddrive to store music files), offline navigation (like RT6 - same maps), wifi, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and we was able to configure it for DS3 (theme/skin, and images - for example the car is a DS3 when you put the can in reverse/parking assistance).

SMEG+iV2 PN 98 141 964 80 - seems to be a simpler hardware and software with MirrorLink. It has no navigation, no wifi and we could not enable the same theme/skin for DS3.

My first impressions about MirrorLink (I own an Android phone - Sony Xperia Z3) - It's crap/waste of time!

MirrorLink is announced as a revolutionary and awesome feature but the true is that still is a “beta” and unexplored/unsupported feature.

You can only mirror some previously authorized applications (list at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]). I thought that any application could be used or that my phone was mirrored completely, but no - to use Spotfy you will need an app called RockScout and there are just a few navigation apps (all offline - no Waze or Google Maps).

I’m trying to find a way to unlock full mirror for Android.

    Regards,

The VINs contain the shorted VIN - that's essentially the model of the car and its accessories.
A VIN from a DS3 with only RT6 orginally fitted would IMHO not wok at all.

That info is very valueable. Btw. the internal hardrive is no such. It is an SD-card with either 8 GB or 16 GB capacitiy. The SMEGs mount part of it as bulk device /bd0 -> That's the jukebox
So it would be very interesting (if possible) to see if the 98 153 553 80 had 16 GB SD installed. (Opening of the housing required).

That's exactly what my impression was - it is pure child's play. The only apps you can mirror are not offering much more than the headunit of itself. The apps are mostly music players. So with CarPlay, you cannot do much.
It is just a little more colorful.

I have SMEG+ iv2 in my new Berlingo. I just upgraded FW to ver. 6.1.D.R20. Thank you guys for the download link and instructions! But it still has issue which I don't like. It turns off when I turn off ignition. Seems that it is not possible to listen to radio if ignition is turned off... Should this be indeed so?

    Hello,

Do you have tried "power on" radio when your car is turn off ?
If before updating the radio is like this, it still has to do the same.
I don't know why, but from time to time, the firmwares updates disrupt Citroën and Peugeot vehicles not ?
