Hello guys, the maps work great on a Peugeot 308 but I have a problema that I already had before the map update. The navigation system shuts down from times to times and it is not stable. I have a old firmware that came from factory. I want to upgrade the firmware. The problems are the bugs in the latest firmwares. Which firmware is the most stable? Can I make a security copy of my firmware? If so how can I do it? Which firmware is the most stable? How do I do the downgrade of firmware? Thank you, I would really appreciate some help

Default RNEG / Myway / Wipnav reboots spontaneously

    Hello Sessionback,

In reply to your post, some of the questions I think I can answer:

The navigation system shuts down from times to times and it is not stable.
I have the same problem. I contacted the dealer, who told me that this is a known issue, and due to a hardware fault. Nothing to do with software. He advised me to have the unit repaired / revised by a specialised company, which costs around 350 - 400 euros. This wil be done next week, and I hope it cures the problem.

I have a old firmware that came from factory. I want to upgrade the firmware. The problems are the bugs in the latest firmwares. Which firmware is the most stable?
According to Peugeot and CitroŽn, R50b is the most stable. I have not read on any forum any indication that R50b is not stable

Can I make a security copy of my firmware? If so how can I do it? al
No, but you can downgrade by simply donwloading an older version and installing that in the same way as installing a newer version.

    regards,
    Fred

    Hello Fred Picasso,
I read (Google translate) on one Italian forum that problem with restart is on EPROM. Few guys there mentioned at the end of thread that problem was solved when they sent their units to Clarion.
I have problem with restarts every 30 minutes, and I tried all possible things, and few times been thinking it was solved, but few days later it came back.
I emailed Clarion two days back, still no response, would call them durring week.

who makes these firmwares i like to get in contact with them.

is it a hardware restriction or software that the a2dp is not enabled yet

    Hi zmlatan,

Just had my unit overhauled by a repair shop, specialized in car electronics (]h ttp://w ww.kms-apeldoorn.nl/).
I tried to let them explain to me what the real problem was, but they did not (want to) tell me more than 'some parts on the print were damaged and had to be replaced'. Could very well be that these were EPROMs.
On the way back (90 minutes drive) the unit did not malfunction once, so it seems to have worked.

I noticed that the software version was set back from R40b to R30b. I don't care, as long as it works, but it is definitely an indication that an EPROM was replaced.

    So far, so good...

Good luck with these Clarion guys, hope they can help you out.

    cheers,
    Fred

Glad to hear you sorted it.
I had been reading about restart for months, and in every thread in every forum no one found solution, or no one shared it with others.
After reading your post above I found Italian forum, where last post is few months old, but guys wrote that it seems they sorted the problem.
I called Clarion (UK), fella told me restart is known problem for them, they can do it, but I have to do it through dealer, as unit is paired to car.
Because of my holiday I would postpone it for few weeks and would just call dealer to hear them.
What I do, will depend on price.
