Can eMyWay run my kml files like iGO?
OK, thanks I will give that a try.
Edit: Well that's frustrating. Still didn't work ..... downloaded IMGBurn and burned it as you said above, but when I start the engine, put the RT4 display to Map and insert the newly burned disc in the CD feed - nothing happens. I can here the CD player spinning trying to read the disc but then, nada. I ejected it and tryed two more times - same result.....

So I just want to double check the steps to make sure I didn't do anything wrong because the 8.31 discs I'm burning are not being recognised in my RT4....
I downloaded the zip file from the link in post 1 of this thread. It created a file on my desktop - CD_RT4-5_SW_8.31
I downloaded ImgBurn software. Inserted a blank DVD-R disc in my optical drive, clicked on ImgBurn, clicked on 'write image file to disc' and chose the 8.31 file on my desktop. It successfully burned the image file at 4x ( I tried again at 8x). I then started the car engine, let the RT4 boot, pressed the NAV button to bring up the GPS/Map display and inserted the burned DVD...... and then nothing happens. I've tried about 4 times.
Is this the correct procedure? I don't know what else to do.....

Method is correct, no problem but I don't know why RT4/5 don't read CD ?
Van Well has written : "Inserted a blank DVD-R disc in my optical drive", a CD not a DVD.
An error which rarely happens, it does not matter, the RT4/5 works.
Enjoy this comprehensive GPS, better in some places than WIPNav or WIPNav+
Be careful next time.
Well, that was a total f#@k up! My RT4 is totally not working, the CD is stuck inside and it is constantly turning on (solid orange light), I can hear the cd drive spin for 2 secs and then it clicks off - repeating this constantly ad infinitum!!
When I inserted the CD (engine running), everything went according to plan at first, it recognised the cd, the orange writing in the top left corner of the LCD went through it's checks, said updating from version #### to Version @@@@, updating files with the progress percentage displayed, etc, etc. I watched this for about 10mins and reading here that it takes nearly an hour to update, I opened the car door and went inside for about 15 minutes. When I came back, I could see it was 'black' screen and that the little orange light below the on/volume button (which was flickering before) was now cycling solid for a few seconds (with accompanying CD drive noise), and then going out (CD drive noise stopped), then go again - over and over. I thought at first this was part of the update process but after checking 10 mins later, and again 10 mins later..... then 15 mins later..... in total, from inserting the CD, I waited over an hour with the engine running and touching nothing. I then realised it was stuffed! I tried to eject the CD but can't. I turned off the car engine and I waited over 3 mins for the BSi to go to sleep, I started the engine again to see if anything had changed. No, the orange light, cd read noise, orange light off, etc just kept going....
I am so pissed off because everything worked beautifully before with the 9 year old 2007 firmware and maps; I just thought upgrading would be a good thing. Should have just left it alone. I can't even send the unit to be repaired because nobody here in Australia can do it (Peugeot/Citroen sell very small numbers of cars down under).
Even if I went to the crazy expense of sending the unit to Europe for repair, they can't replace the Aussie satnav maps..... nobody has them anymore and there's no map updates for Australia (again, the market is too small).
Aaarrgghhhh!!!! Can you tell I am very, very annoyed?

Pulled the unit out and tried resetting/rebooting with the 2 little white buttons on the bottom..... not rebooting, not doing anything. The cd is stuck inside still spinning and I have lost everything! No reverse sensors, no display, no radio, no music, no clock..... I am soooo pissed off. I also tried disconnecting the car battery and doing a BSi soft reboot - nada. I tried to do a forced CD eject by pressing simultaneously the power & eject button. How can I get the the CD out? I tried to gently pry it out with another CD but it's still spinning.
I should have just left it as it was, everything was working fine, except the maps were a little outdated. Can't upgrade them anyway. Between Peugeot Australia and Navteq/Here, there is zero support for Australian customers.
Perhaps I could send the RT4 to Karim at Autotronics in Spain to repair but that will probably cost quite a bit. I hope my RT4 isn't fried - loosing all functionality is devastating. Not even radio for music. No trip computer. No nothing.
Anyone got positive suggestions?

I'm sorry for you, an update is always a risk.
This also happens in the Peugeot dealership technician ?
Maybe the DVD is inserted did something on RT4 ?
Did you have to do like the handling of the video ?
Update FW 8.11 to FW 8.31, RT4 does 3 boots, again 30mn work.
Look at first post, you are a vidéo to help you.
